2/28/05 HSSA Student Athlete of the Year – This scholarship is for
outstanding student athletes.  Visit www.hssaus.com for more information.

3/1/05 American Legion – Eagle Scout of the Year – Aid offered: $500 -
$2,000.  Eligibility:  Must have earned Eagle Award and religious emblem.
High School student.  Fl resident.  In a troop chartered to an American
Legion Post or the son or grandson of a Legion Member or parent eligible to

3/1/05 American Legion – Fl American Legion General Scholarship – Aid
offered: $1,000 - $2,000.  Student must be direct descendent, i.e. child,
grandchild, great-grandchild, or legally adopted child of member in good
standing of The American Legion Department of FL; or a deceased U.S.
veteran who would have been eligible for membership in The American
Legion.  Must be high school senior, attending FL high school.  Parents

3/1/05 American Legion – JROTC Cadet of the Year – Aid offered: $500 -
$2,000.  Student must be enrolled in FL high school and be a member of Air
Force, Army, Marine, or Navy JROTC.  Parents must be FL residents.  Must be
in senior year of school.  Recommended by JROTC commanding officer.  Web:

 Eagle Scout of the Year – Scholarships ranging from $1000 - $3000
are available to a Florida resident who has earned an Eagle Award.

 General Scholarship – Scholarships ranging from $500 - $2500 are
available to a student who is a direct descendent of a member of The
American Legion of Florida.

3/1/05 Summer Leaders Seminar – There are two sessions (Session I – June
4th – 10th; Session II – June 11th – 17th) available to students who are
interested in being considered competitive for admission to the next U.S.
Military Academy class.  Applicants should be juniors who rank in the top
5% of their class.  Minimum PSAT scores: 62 Verbal and 62 Math.


3/1/05 Scholarship-Housing Program – Rent-free scholarship living is
available to students who attend FSU, UF, FAMU, Bethune-Cookman College or
Florida Gulf Coast University (females only).  Students must have at least
a 3.0 GPA.  Visit www.southernscholarship.org for an application and
additional information.

3/1/05 Dixie Youth Baseball, Inc. - There are 50 $2,000 scholarships
available to any seniors who have participated in a Dixie Youth Baseball
program when 12 or younger.

3/1/05  Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. – This $500 scholarship is for graduating
minority seniors who plan on attending a post-secondary institution.
Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA (unweighted).

3/1/05 Florida Association of Postsecondary Schools and Colleges 2005
Scholarship Program – There are private career schools and colleges that
offer full and partial scholarships.  Students must have a 2.0 GPA.
Applications are available on-line:  www.FAPSC.org.

3/1/05 Talquin Electric Cooperative, INC – Youth Tour to Washington – TEC
is looking for 11th grade students to represent Leon County.  Students have
an opportunity to receive an expense paid trip to Washington D.C. on July
18th – 23rd.  Students must also be available to attend a two day
conference on March 16th and 17th in Tallahassee.  See Mrs. Rudd if you are
interested.

3/4/05 Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year (SAMMY 2005) – This
scholarship is intended to recognize outstanding senior scholar athletes.
The winner will receive a $7500 college scholarship.  Seniors can apply at
www.whymilk.com.

3/14/05 Wandretia Warren Scholarship (Delta Sigma Theta) – A $1000
scholarship is available to an African American female.  Applicants must be
seniors and have a 3.0 GPA.

3/15/05 Power of Family Scholarship – www.scholarshipcoach.com is offering
10 $1,000 scholarships for students of any age range.

3/15/05 United Daughters of the Confederacy (Confederate Memorial
Scholarship) – A $300 scholarship is given to a student who is going to
college in Florida and can submit proof of confederate service of
applicant’s ancestor.  Lineage must be lineal, not collateral.

3/15/05 NFIB Free Enterprise Scholars Award – Scholarships ($1,000 -
$10,000) are available to senior entrepreneurs.  Visit
www.NFIB.com/education for more information.

3/15/05 The University of the Arts – This scholarship is for students
looking for an opportunity to pursue a career devoted to the arts.  Visit
www.uarts.edu.

3/15/05 FSU Young Scholars Program (YSP) – FSU hosts a residential summer
science and mathematics program for interested students.  Applications are
available at http://bio.fsu.edu/ysp/index.html.

3/16/05 Freedom Scholarship – A $2500 scholarship is available is available
to a junior or senior.  Students need to write an essay on - The Bill of
Rights: What they mean to me as an American.

3/18/05 2005 Coca-Cola Pre-College Leadership Program – This summer program
is available to 10th and 11th grade male students and male seniors who have
applied to Morehouse College.  Students must have a 3.0 GPA.  The dates for
the program are from June 18th – June 24th.  The costs is $400 per
participant.  Applications are available at

3/21/05 Carol Z. Bellamy Young Women in Public Affairs Award – A
scholarship is available to college-bound females (aged 16 – 20).  Amount:
$50 - $1000.  Applications are available at www.zonta-tallahassee.org
under “Service Projects.”

3/25/05 FSU College of Law’s 2005 Summer for Undergraduates Program – FSU’s
College of Law is sponsoring a 4 week program (May 23 – June 17) for
students interested in the legal profession.  The program is available to
college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors.  The curriculum includes daily
classes taught by FSU law professors, guest lectures, and observations of
actual courtroom proceedings.  Participants receive free room and board as
well as a $500 stipend.

3/25/05 Florida Association of Realtors (FAR) – There is a total of $41,000
in scholarship money available to a senior who is going on the college.

3/25/05 2005 RMT Writing Contest – This contest is for students in grades
9 – 12.  A $100 prize will be awarded.  Essay topic is “One of the most
important issues facing the nation in the news today.”  More information

3/25/05 Rural Introduction to Pre-Medical Education – FSU is hosting a
residential Pre-medical Education Program for 11th and 12th grade students
interested in the medical field.  The program lasts for 3 weeks (June 26th –
 July 17th).  Visit www.med.fsu.edu for more information.

3/30/05 The FSU Chapter of Progressive Black Men, Inc. Book Stipend – A
$500 book stipend is available to a minority male going to FSU.  Visit
www.fsupbm.org for more information.

3/31/05 TCC Scholarships – There are five $1,000 scholarships available to
seniors who will be attending TCC.  Students must have a 3.0 GPA and be
nominated by a teacher.  The five scholarships are:  The Jeff Bradford
Scholarship – for a fine arts student; Technology Scholarship; Math and
Science Scholarship; History and English Scholarship; and a Business
Scholarship.  Each department will submit nominations and also have the
right to add additional qualifications for each scholarship.

4/1/05 Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation – This scholarship is available
to a son or daughter of an active or a former Marine.  The student must be
a senior and have a 2004 Family income of $61,000 or less.  Applications

4/1/05 United Automobile Workers of America Scholarship – This scholarship
is worth $400 - $1200 and is available to a senior.

4/1/05 Capital Area Gator Club – Stephen C. O’Connell Leadership
Scholarship – A $1000 scholarship is available to seniors entering UF.

4/15/04 Tallahassee Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors – A
$1,000 scholarship is offered to college bound seniors.

4/15/05 Anne Massey General Scholarship – A $500 scholarship is available
to a senior who will attend college.  The student must have a 3.0 GPA and
be able to show financial need.

4/15/05 Norma T. McGuire Native American Scholarship – A $500 scholarship
is available to a senior who can prove their Native American descent.  The
student must have a 3.5 GPA and plan on attending college.

4/15/05 Lincoln High School/FAMU High School 1959 Classes Annual
Scholarship of Merit- This scholarship is for an African-American senior
who has a GPA between a 2.5 and a 3.0.  The student must have 2 years of a
foreign language and minimum test scores of 1000 SAT or 20 ACT.

4/15/05 Theodore R. & Vivian M. Johnson Scholarship Foundation, Inc. – This
scholarship is for children of UPS employees or retirees.  Applicants must
be a senior.  Awards range from $1000 - $10,000.  Applications are

4/15/05 Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, Inc. – This scholarship is for
seniors who are sons/daughters of current or former US Marines.  Visit
www.mcsf.us for more information.

4/29/05 All USA Teacher Team – USA Today newspaper is looking for a few
good teachers.  If you have a teacher who goes above and beyond and would

4/29/05 The Capital City Classic’s Graduating Seniors Scholarship Program –
A $1000 scholarships are available to seniors who come from a low social-
economic background and have a 3.0 GPA.  Students must be nominated.  See
