award is for 1 male and 1 female student. Students must excel in the

scholarship is for the most passionate young car lover in America.
Applicants must be between 16-25. The top prize is to attend a racing or

Awards & Scholarships
Target All-Around Scholarship: The Target All-Around Scholarship program is
unique as it recognizes volunteer work as well as academic achievement.
Target awards over six hundred $1,000 All-Around Scholarships each year,
including one $25,000 scholarship to a high school senior and college
student age 24 or younger. Target All–Around Scholarship recipients are
selected by an independent organization, not by Target Corporation
employees. The Citizens' Scholarship Foundation of America, Inc. (CSFA)
chooses recipients based on: Number of community volunteer service hours,
Volunteer leadership awards and honors, Grade point average of 2.0 or
higher (C average) and an appraisal form completed by volunteer supervisor

• Presidential Freedom Scholarships: The Presidential Freedom
Scholarships are available again this year. This program, administered by
Learn and Serve America at the Corporation for National and Community
Service, provides Presidential recognition and a $1,000 college scholarship
to high school juniors and seniors for their leadership in community
service. The Corporation provides $500 which must be matched with at least
$500 secured by the high school from the community. Students must complete
at least 100 hours of community service to be eligible for the scholarship.
This year the Corporation is offering up to 7,800 scholarships. For more

On-Going Volunteer Opportunities
• Volunteers Needed in the Office - Youth Corps members are needed to
help in the office once a week (Monday- Friday 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm). This
is an opportunity to become active in program development and planning,
practice your administrative skills (typing, filing, calling community
organizations, etc.), and earn volunteer hours at the same time. Help is
also needed in the office for grant, scholarship and awards research.

Youth Initiated Service Projects
Tell us your ideas! The Leadership Council wants to hear your ideas for
future service projects. You can present your ideas at the monthly
leadership council meetings, or by contacting Kim. Projects that fit into
the HEADS UP focus areas will receive priority funding, but all ideas are
welcome and will be considered.
