4/29/05 All USA Teacher Team – USA Today newspaper is looking for a few
good teachers.  If you have a teacher who goes above and beyond and would
like to nominate them, visit http://allstars.usatoday.com.

4/29/05 Science Quest (UF) -  The University of Florida is offering a one
week residential science experience for rising 10th graders (currently in
9th).  Information is available at www.cpet.uf.edu/sciquest and
applications can be filled out at www.cpet.ufl.edu/sciquest/forms.htm.

4/29/05 The Junior Statesmen Summer School – Any 9th, 10th, or 11th grade
students who are interested in politics and current events are eligible for
this summer program.  Programs are located on the campuses of Georgetown,
Princeton, Yale, Stanford, and Northwestern.  Additional information is

4/29/05 Association of Godby Graduates’ Legacy Scholarship – There are two
$250 scholarships available to seniors with a 3.0 GPA.  Students must have
at least one relative that graduated from Godby.

5/1/05 United Daughters of the Confederacy – The Florida division is
giving a $300 scholarship to a student who is a resident of Florida and a
descendant of a Confederate fighter.

5/1/05 Through the Looking Glass Scholarship – There are four $1000
scholarships available to seniors who have a parents with a disability.

5/9/05 V.L. Elkins Scholarship – This scholarship is for a graduating
senior who has been accepted or plans to attend FAMU.  A 3.0 GPA is
required.

5/11/05 Tallahassee Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors – A
$1,000 scholarship is offered to college bound seniors.

5/13/05 Pre-College Summer @ Brown – Brown University is offering summer
programs for high school students.  More information is available at

5/15/05 2005-06 Scobee Scholarships – This scholarship is for gifted
students who intend to pursue college studies in the areas of math,
science, or technology.  A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one female
and one male student.  Applicants must be in the 11th grade.

5/15/05 Educational Communications Scholarship Foundation – Scholarships
($1000 - $6000) are available to a student who has taken the SAT or ACT.

5/15/05 Theodore R. and Vivian M. Johnson Scholarship Foundation, Inc. -
Scholarship aid is available for disabled students to attend college in the
Florida State University System.  Applications are available at

5/20/05 DAR Florida State Scholarship – A $500 scholarship is available to
a Florida member continuing their education or a child/grandchild of a
Florida DAR member.

5/30/05 United States Army Reserve/National Scholar Athlete Program – This
award is for 1 male and 1 female student.  Students must excel in the
classroom and on the athletic field.

5/31/05 UNCF/JP Morgan Chase Bank – The United Negro College Fund is
awarding full scholarships to UNCF member colleges/universities.  Students
must have a 3.0.  Participating schools, applications, and more information

5/05 Bridges testGear for PSAT – A $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to
the student who uses this test prep program the most.    Students need to
log in at www.testu.com/bridges and use 13046510 for the Universal Code.

sessions are available for students interested in engineering.  Students
can register for a session on-line at

families who have an “honor student” and make less than $40,000 a year.

N/A Randolph-Macon Woman’s College – Randolph-Macon is offering four
scholarships ranging from $5,000 - $13,000.

N/A Washington Workshops Foundation – This internship opportunity is
available to motivated students interested in government and politics.  The
internship is available in mid June through July in 3 or 6 week long
segments.  Students will be housed at Trinity University (northeast
Washington).

N/A     O, The Oprah Magazine, is looking to hire fall interns in the
Fashion and Style Departments.  Candidates must be highly organized, detail-
oriented and be able to juggle multiple tasks at once. Prior internship
experience preferred, but not required. This opportunity is available for
college students in need of credit hours and recent graduates who are
available to start immediately, full-time from 10:00a.m.to 6:00 p.m., 5
