Administration News:
Godby High science teacher Brian McClain was presented with the "The 2006
Outstanding High School Science Teacher Award" from the Florida Association
of Science Teachers.  His plaque reads "for your significant contributions
to science education, for your dedication, and for inspiring the students
and fellow teachers in the quest for learning about and living science."

Sports News:
Track Coach Jesse Forbes was named the “2006 Track and Field Coach of the
Year” by the Florida High School Athletics Association. The Godby Track
Team won the state championship in April 2006.

Godby senior Kelley Wyman shattered two long standing swim records last
weekend at the State Class 1A swim meet in Ft. Lauderdale. Kelley is the
new Godby record holder in the 50m free (21.85), breaking Louis Cross’ 1992
record and in the 100m free (48.56), breaking Carlos Santiago 1995 record.

Godby junior Joe Franklin became the Cross Country Regional Champion last
weekend in Jacksonville. He travels to Tampa this weekend for the state
finals.

The undefeated and ranked first in state Cougars host Pensacola Washington
tonight in week one of the playoffs. The game will be at Cox Stadium. Game
starts at 7:30pm.
