Godby High partners with America’s Second Harvest and America Recycles Day

America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend and America Recycles Day has
asked Godby High to assist in the promotion of America’s Second Harvests’
celebrated “Canstruction” Day food drive.

The promotion will occur November 15th on America Recycles Day in the
court yard of the Florida Capitol in Tallahassee. The Godby High
construction class will build an 8 foot tall model of the Florida Capitol
building out of canned food products. All of the canned food used in this
model will be donated to America’s Second Harvest (Big Bend Food Bank) at
the end of the day.

Godby High School is asking the entire Godby High family to donate a
minimum $5.00 each to assist in this worth while effort. Godby High will
then use the money contributed to purchase the appropriate canned foods
for the model. Please do not donate cans of food as the canned food must
all be coordinated for the model. We estimate that over 1500 cans of food
will be necessary to “Canstruct” the model. The Godby model will be the
only model used in this promotion so it is very important that this effort
be a success. Please help Godby High, help America’s Second Harvest.

Donations can be made in the Godby High main office, or, mail your
donation to:
