Please mark your calendar for the fourth annual Association of Godby
Graduates (AGG) Hall of Fame Induction/Dinner. This very noteworthy event
will be held Friday evening March 20, 2009, at 6 p.m. sharp in the Godby
Media Center. The AGG Hall of Fame recognizes graduates for their lifetime
accomplishments and contributions. The Hall of Fame committee has selected
an outstanding slate of graduates to be inducted this March.
Please plan to join the AGG on Friday, March 20, at 6 p.m. to help
celebrate this new slate of Association of Godby Graduates Hall of Fame
inductees. Tickets are $15 each. All proceeds support the AGG scholarship
fund. The Godby High National Honor Society students will serve and be
recognized.

The 2009 honorees are:
Col. Stephen Silvers Ret. USAF, c/o 1971. (Category: Military) This
original Godby Golf team player attended Florida State immediately after
high school. Steve graduated from the University of Floridas Dental School
in 1980. Steve then served the US Army from 1980 1984 and then the US Air
Force from 1986 2003. Steve is now currently in private practice here in
Tallahassee.
Major Darrell Cook, Cobb County Police Dept., c/o 1974. (Category:
Professional) Not long after graduating Darrell married his Godby High
sweetheart Omara Sanders (c/o 74). These two Marching Cougars have now
been married over 32 years. Darrell has climbed the proverbial ladder with
the Cobb County Police Dept. from Officer to Major. He has served on the
SWAT, Negotiations, Dive and Bomb Squad teams.
Mr. Jimmy and Mrs. Rhonda (Hollingsworth) Lambert, Lambert Construction c/o
1974 (Category: Business) These two Godby High sweethearts have been
married for more than 31 years. Jimmy incorporated Lambert Construction in
1983 and Rhonda has worked by his side ever since. The Lamberts found their
niche building churches, credit unions and airport restaurants. Jimmy and
Rhonda have always helped Godby and the Godby Golden Cougars program.
Gwendolyn Lynn, Principal Griffin Middle School, c/o 1976. (Category:
Education)
This Godby Honor student graduated from Florida A&M, Magna Cum Laude where
she received Bachelors and Masters Degrees. She was a Leon County Schools
Teacher of the Year (twice) while teaching at Griffin and Nims Middle
schools and serves as Griffins Principal.
Mr. Scott Emerson Lybbert, Author, c/o 1976. (Category: Fine Arts) This
former Big Eight Price Waterhouse accountant is now a novelist /
screenwriter. Scott, using the writing skills learned in the 700 building
at Godby has just recently completed his second novel and a movie deal is
imminent. He is also involved in several business ventures. Scott is a
University of Utah Magna Cum Laude grad where he received his bachelor and
Masters degrees.
Mr. Travis Fisher, NFL Detroit Lions c/o 1999. (Category: Sports)
While at Godby High, Travis won the state championship in the 100 meters,
the 200 meters and the 4x100 meter relay. He has not slowed down since.
Travis is now a football star with the Detroit Lions. He is in his 10th NFL
season and is considered one of the best cornerbacks in the league.
