Tiger Team News
Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Carolyn Peterosn as our new Assistant
Principal for Curriculum. Mrs. Peterson is a veteran educator who will
certainly add so much to our already dynamic team of educators at Griffin
Middle School. She has most recently served as the Assistant Principal for
Curriculum at Nims Middle School. She has also worked at the district
level and in Gadsden County as a classroom teacher. I know you will be
happy that she is here to work with you and your child! Stop by and say
hello if time permits!
Hats off to Dr. Princess Palmer as she returns to the classroom to work
within our Pre-Advanced Placement Program. Dr. Palmer served Griffin
Middle School as our Assiatnt Principal for Curriculum during the 2004-
2005 school year. As you may recall, she has earned her National Board
Certification and is anxious to return to the classroom. We are fortunate
to have Dr. Palmer here at Griffin Middle School!
Happy Birthday, America!
How do you/did you celebrate July 4, 2005? The second president of the
United States, John Adams, had some suggestions. He wrote, "It ought to be
celebrated by pomp and parade, with... games, sports... bells, bonfires,
and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other..." Adams
had reason for his enthusiasm. The signers of the Declaration of
Independence were committing treason against Great Britain, and could have
been punished with death. But they took the risk and won freedom... an
accomplishment worthy of great celebration.
Remember to read and complete your math summer practice, Tigers! Have a
safe, restful and positive month!
