September 22, 2003 will be Family Day- A day to eat dinner with your
children. Eating dinner together and participating in family activities
play important roles in the development of our children. Floridians are
encouraged to make family time an important part of this special day and
every day. Research from the National Center on Addiction and Substance
Abuse shows strong evidence that eating dinner together as a family is a
strong deterrent to drug abuse. For instance, a 1999 study showed that
teens who almost always eat dinner with their parents are 31% less likely
than the average teen to use drugs, cigarettes, or smoke. For more info
visit: www.myfloridaeducation.com/familyday

After eating dinner, come out and support the Lady Tiger Volleyball team
as they take on Nims Middle School! The game will take place at 6:30 PM at
Nims.

Yours in Excellence,
Michelle Gayle
