Tiger Greetings to everyone!

The summer is quickly coming to a close! I hope that it has been restful,
fun, full of family activities, and safe. It is time to begin our
successful 2004-2005 school year. Please be reminded of these dates:

Friday, August 13, 2004     Orientation    10:30 - noon

Monday, August 16, 2004     First Day of School   8:20 AM - 2:40 PM

Students will only need to bring a positive attitude with them on the first
day of school. We will provide a "holder folder" that will be full of
teacher letters, student/parent information, student forms for parents to
complete and paper and pencil for the first day of school.

Please note that there is not a need for backpacks until lockers have been
issued. This will take place on the third day of school. Do not buy a
combination lock as Griffin Middle School rents lockers and locks for
$5.00. This locker rental fee is for the entire school year.

Finally, I hope that all Tigers have completed their summer reading
assignments. Each student was asked to read two books and will be tested on
those books during the third week of school. Readers are Leaders at Griffin
Middle School!
