Thanks for a great Tiger Fun Day!
The tradition of excellence continues as we had a great Tiger Fun Day on
Thursday, March 17, 2005. Our PTO parent sponsors (Mrs. Apgar, Mrs.
Berrian, Mrs. Merrill, Mrs. Thurston, and Mrs. White)and school sponsor
(Mrs. Register) worked hard to ensure that everyone had a great time! We
were also joined by members of the FSU Seminole Football Team during this
annual event. Students enjoyed singing their hearts out at the karaoke
station, competing at the jousting station, dunking Mr. Weaver at the
dunking booth, and sticking to the sticky wall. The food was fantastic and
all students were well behaved during this event. Way to go, Tigers!

Way to go, Teachers!
Mr. Gilmore did a great job of organizing the faculty and student
basketball game. Both teams played well in front of a packed gym on
Thursday, March 17, 2005. The final victors this year was the Tiger Team
Teachers! The teachers team was coached by Mrs. Gayle and Mr. Whitfield. We
all had a great time and look forward to a rematch next year!

Weekly Parent Quiz - Are You Helping Your Child Feel Motivated?

Self-motivation—the desire to succeed—comes from inside. But parents can
encourage students to feel motivated. Here's a quiz to see if you're doing
this.
Give yourself five points for something you usually do, zero points for
something you never do—or any score in between you think you deserve.

___1. I teach my child to set goals.
___2. I suggest that my child make progress charts.
___3. I praise my child's hard work.
___4. I help my child learn from his mistakes.
___5. I tell my child I believe in him.

How did you score?
Above 20 points means you're helping your child build motivation. Fifteen
to 19 is average. Below 15? Try some of the ideas in the quiz to give your
child motivational support.
