The proposed school start times for the 2008-2009 school year is available
for viewing in the school's front office.  This proposal will be presented
to the Leon County School Board on May 13, 2008.  It has been discussed by
the District Advisory Council.  As always, thank you for your continued
support of Griffin Middle School.

We enjoyed a great day of engaged students who participated in "Take Your
Son/Daughter to Work" today.  Our vistors were greeted with a reception and
welcome letter.  They continued their day, seeing the many aspects of
school life, and ended the day with a short mock faculty meeting.  Each
participant was presented with a Certificate of Participation.  Lastly, the
participants shared what they enjoyed/learned most about the education
profession.

Please look for upcoming information about requesting courses for the 2008 -
2009 school year.  We are continuing to move toward the development of the
Pre Information Technology Program, which will begin August 2008 with the
incoming 6th grade students.

Griffin Middle School believes that each student is a valuable member of
