From the Principal, Mrs. Michelle Gayle
We have completed a busy week! Our Girls Volleyball Team has earned runner-
up championship status in Division 1A. Congratulations to the Lady Tiger
Volleyball Team and Coach Kauffman for a great season. Our Tackle Football
Team ended the season last Tuesday at Cox Stadium. Special thanks to Coach
Rich, Coach Ganim, Coach Holland, Coach Rizzo and the Tackle Football Team
for a great season of Tiger Pride! Our Book Fair was quite successful and
was held in conjunction with Teen Read Week. Our cheerleaders earned a
Spirit Stick at the Cheerleader CHAMP Day on Wednesday. Other clubs and
organizations are also in full swing. As you can see there is never a dull
moment at Griffin Middle School!
The PTO Cherrydale Farms fundraiser will continue until October 27, 2003.
This fundraiser will make it possible to continue to provide resources and
materials for our classrooms and Media Center. There are all kinds of
items to purchase for gifts or to enjoy yourself. The items will arrive
here at school by mid-November just in time for holiday giving. Thanks in
advance for your support of Griffin Middle School!
Griffin is starting a new policy on Monday, October 27, 2003 that will
help us solve the problem of “sagging pants”. Students whose pants are not
at waist level will be sent to the office to have a plastic tie affixed on
the back belt loops of the pants so that pants are at the waist level.
This plastic tie will not harm the student, their pants or prohibit the
student from using the bathroom or changing for physical education. This
plastic tie will ensure that pants are at waist level and within dress
code. Please know that this will not affect all GMS young men, just a
select few who continue to challenge our approved Dress Code. As always,
please do not hesitate to call upon me at 488.8436 or email me at

Spirit Items are on sale each Tuesday and Thursday in the front office
during lunchtime! Gooooooooo Tigers!
