Parent Quiz of the Week! Parents - Have You Met Your Responsibilities?

Parents are understandably concerned about making sure their child learns
to assume responsibility. But parents still have important responsibilities
that can make the difference between success and failure.
Give yourself five points for something you usually do, zero points for
something you never do—or any score in between.

I stress the values that will help my child in school. In particular, I
talk about the importance of education and the need to work hard.

I set high, but realistic expectations for my child. She knows that I
expect her to work up to her ability.

I praise and reward my child's accomplishments in school. When she falls
short of what's expected, I help her get back on track.

I help my child set priorities. Homework and home responsibilities come
first—before work, TV or spending time with friends.

I have visited my child's school and have met her teachers.

How did you score?
Above 20 means you're meeting the responsibilities that will in turn help
your child become more responsible. A score of 15 to 19 is average. If you
scored below 15, make an effort to try at least some of these suggestions
in the quiz.
