Message from the Principal, Mrs. Michelle Gayle

We have had another great week at Griffin Middle School! Our students are
busy working on projects, using technology, and taking learning to the
next level within all of our classrooms. Our teachers are also working
within learning communities, reviewing research, and sharing teaching
strategies that can be used to take our students to the next level.
Basically, we all love to learn at Griffin Middle School!
Progress Reports went home with each Tiger on Tuesday, September
13, 2005. Most of our students are working hard and progressing at an
acceptable rate of learning. All of our students have four more weeks to
change any of the grades that were received on Tuesday. It’s not too late
to change a grade, but you have to consistently work hard, Tigers!
Our health and fitness tip for the week includes making sure that
you start your day with a healthy breakfast. The key to a healthy breakfast
is including plenty of nutrients that your body can use to jumpstart your
day. A breakfast with protein, carbohydrates and rich in fiber can keep you
energized and ready to learn until lunch. As you can see, breakfast is an
important meal for everyone!
Finally, I would like to thank everyone for his/her valuable
support of Griffin Middle School. Please do not hesitate to call upon me
or email me if I can assist you. Have a positive week!

Our Tigers Observe Constitution Day

Our Tigers have been involved with various activities to commemorate
Constitution Day. Our classes have read actual court cases and answered
thought provoking questions based on our Constitution. Other classes have
looked at events in the news today to relate how the Constitution gives
certain rights to all people. I have enjoyed listening to the discussions
and having conversations with our brilliant students. Please ask your child
to share some of these thought provoking activities with you.

Hats Off To the Tallahassee Police Department

The Tallahassee Police Department donated needed school supplies to our
school on Monday, September 12, 2005. These donations were made possible
due to TPD partnering with area companies and generous citizens of our
community. We appreciate these needed school supply items!
