Rickards High School is inviting all of those who would like information on
the International Baccalaureate Programme to an Open House on Thursday,
January 12, 2006, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Rickard’s Auditorium. The
IB programme is designed for highly motivated, academically oriented
students. It includes a rigorous and comprehensive pre-university course
of study, as well as promoting community involvement. In Florida, students
who receive an IB diploma are guaranteed Florida Academic Scholars’
standing (100% in-state tuition covered plus $600 for books) and may
receive 30 college hours or more for their work, depending upon examination
scores. Students that complete the IB programme, even if they do not
receive an IB diploma, are awarded the Florida Merit Scholar award (75% of
in-state tuition covered). Some 8th grade students may have already
received invitations to the Open House through the U.S. mail.
