upcoming 2007-08 school year. This meeting will be held at 9:45 am in the Green Room.
Students will bring their course requests home soon after for parental sign off. Please call the
guidance office with any questions.

Godby's Major's Showcase (fka Curriculum Fair) will be on April 11, 2007 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.
Course requests forms will be due to the Fort Braden Guidance office on Thursday, April 12, 2007.

Lively will be visiting our 8th grade students on 3/29/07 @ 9:30 am. Students interested will be
able to attend to learn more about high school programs offered by Lively as well as the
enrollment process.

The Junior Beta/ Student Government field trip is May 4, 2007.

Thursday, April 26th is the designated date for "Take Our Sons & Daughters to Work". The
guidelines used by Leon County Schools are consistent with Ms. Foundation's recommended age
group, which allows the participation of boys and girls in grades 3 through 8. Schools must
receive a pre-approved letter from the parent and/or guardian indicating the student's
participation. The parent/guardian must also provide the school with a written statement on
company letterhead verifying the student's attendance at the worksite.

Middle School SGA is collecting box tops again this year. Please bring them
into your teacher and the SGA members will come pick them up!

Once again, the Junior Beta Club will be sponsoring a drive collecting pop tops for the Ronald
McDonald House. This is an easy way to raise money for the people in our community needing
support! At the end of the year, prizes will be awarded for middle school and elementary classes
that collect the most tops!
If you have any questions please see Mrs. Steverson in guidance.

Middle School Tutoring
Tutoring is offered every Tuesday and Thursday, from 2:45-4:30 pm, for all middle school
students...after school transportation is provided.

Nutrition Tip of the Week
Loose 100 calories a day: When you think about weight gain, you probably think overeating or not
exercising. The reality is a simple 100 calories a day can make the difference in weight gain or
loss. American gains about two pounds a year. Since every pound of body weight equals 3500
calories, two pounds translates into an extra 19 calories a day.

Physical Activity of the Week
Building Healthy Muscles: Nutrition and working out go hand-in-hand to help you build muscles.
You need to work your muscles to build strong muscle mass and eat enough calories to repair
muscles after a hard workout. Maximize your muscle development by having a regular lifting
routine and aerobic activity. A good weightlifting routine consists of lifting several times per week,
resting a day in between each muscle group. For proper fuel, you need carbohydrates to help the
body during a workout, repair muscles after and to aid in rebuilding muscle mass.
