Principal’s Message
Thank you for another wonderful year at Canopy Oaks!  We have enjoyed your child(ren) this
school year.  It is hard to believe that our 5th graders were the kindergartners who opened Canopy
Oaks in the fall of 1998!  How quickly these years have passed.  Thank you for sharing him/her
with us each day.  We hope you and your family have a wonderful and restful summer.  We look
forward to seeing you at orientation in August.

Also, THANK YOU to our PTO for all the hard work all year long.  The carnival was fun and enjoyed
by all.  Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week at Canopy Oaks was awesome!  We had a great week filled
with wonderful food and surprises!  I encourage each of you to become involved with our Parent
Teacher Organization.

Please encourage your child(ren) to read books of interest during the summer vacation.
Successful readers are successful students in school.   Again, thank you for your support and
involvement this school year.  We could not be the school we are without you and your support!

Volunteer Corner
Hats off to all the wonderful volunteers and businesses that helped to make Teacher/Staff

Berry for Wednesday’s sweet treats; Monica Payne & Leigh Ann Hunter for Thursday’s cookout; Kim
Laramore & Renee Martinello for Friday’s ice cream social.  Without you, we would not be able to
show our staff how lucky we are to have them in our children’s lives.  We would also like to thank
our Partner Coordinator, Dorothy Gochnauer and the many businesses that donated their time,
