them out and send them in with your child.

Reassignment Forms
If your child qualifies under the grandfathering or sibling support rule and needs a reassignment
form, you may pick one up in the front office. Please remember that grandfathering only applies if
your child is going in to the 4th or 5th grade. These forms are due to the Reassignment Office by
March 1.

Test-Taking Tips
* Remind your child to listen and follow directions. Before giving a test, teachers tell students
things they need to know and that can make the difference between a good or bad score. Should
students try to guess if they're not sure of an answer? Should the essay question be written on
every other line? Make sure your child listens to what the teacher has to say.

* Give your child practice in following directions. Make a game of it. Give him/her a recipe and
ask him/her to follow it. Or, ask him/her to look through a newspaper article and circle all the
nouns. Try timing your children as they complete these tasks-tests often have a time limit.

* Make sure your child is physically ready to take the test. Aside from studying, the next best
preparation is a good night's sleep before the test. Make sure he/she eats a good breakfast.
Encourage him/her to wear a sweater that he/she can remove-there's nothing worse than being
too hot or too cold.
  * These tips are from QuickTips - The Parent Institute.

Nutrition Tip of the Week
Garlic: bad breath, good health:
Lowers cholesterol levels, cleans the blood, prevents clots, boosts the immune system and
protects against heart disease.
Sweeten the garlic breath by chewing fresh mint, parsley or citrus peel.

Physical Activity Tip of the Week
Beating Fatigue:
Physical fatigue comes from working your body to capacity. It has a satisfying feeling leaving you
mentally uplifted. It can decrease mental or psychological fatigue. Exercising just twenty minutes
a day is good for lifting your spirit.
