Camp Woe-Be-Gone
A special event for grieving children
The Caring Tree Program of Big Bend Hospice and the Challenger Learning Center invite children,
ages 6-12, who have experienced the death of a loved one to join in a day of fun, support,
exploration, and expression. Campers will enjoy a day filled with sharing circles, creative arts, a
space simulation, music, and a time of remembrance. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, t-shirts, and
transportation to and from the Challenger Center will be provided. This camp is a community
outreach of Big Bend Hospice, Inc. The event will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2006 from 8:00
am-5:00 pm. Meet at Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., at 7:30 am. Call Marsha or
Caitlin for more information or to register. Space is limited so please register early, (850)
878-5310 or (800)772-5862.

Don't forget to send in your box tops! Canopy Oaks receives 10 cents for each box top turned in.
There are a variety of products that box tops are on, so check out the products you buy. Just clip
them out and send them in with your child.

Kindergarten registration is approaching fast. Registration at Canopy Oaks will be the first two
weeks of May. The following are kindergarten requirements for registration:
_ Child must turn 5 years old by 9/1/06.
_ Proof of a physical within the past year.
_ Shot records (the blue card).
_ Original birth certificate (the one without the footprints on it).
_ 2 proofs of address (Check with front office to find out what is acceptable).
If you have any questions, please call Janet Allen at Canopy Oaks (488-3301).

Nutrition Tip of the Week
Protect your heart:
Limit red meat, salt and fatty foods to keep your heart healthy and arteries clog free.

Physical Activity Tip of the Week
Find the Fit: It's easy to fit physical activities into your daily routine. Walk, bike or jog to see your
friends. Take a 10 minute activity break every hour while you read, do homework or watch TV.
Climb stairs instead of taking an escalator or elevator. Try to do these things for a total of 30
minutes every day.
