                  “Building the Future Together”

Greetings Parents and Students:

What a great time the 8th grade class had on their trip to Atlanta. They
experienced a trip of a lifetime. Thanks to Mrs. Aaron for organizing such
a wonderful trip!! Thanks to all of the parents, staff, and students for
conducting themselves in such a grown up manner and for making this trip
worthwhile!!

Report Cards went home last Wednesday. The majority of report cards were
wonderful, but some grades need to be pulled up to insure that students can
pass this year. If your child is in need of assistance, please get with a
specific content teacher or call the guidance department to set up a
conference.

A big congratulations to Cobb Beginning Chorus for making a superior in
Tuesday’s festival at Chiles HS. They worked very hard and were proud to
come home with a Superior in sight reading and on their stage performance.
The comments were all positive and we are so proud of the way they
represented Cobb. Way to go chorus!

We had a huge successful buy one, get one free book fair!! Thanks to all
the teacher’s support we took in almost $2,500 in only 3 days! Thanks to
all who purchased books and allowed their students to come to the book
fair. Ms. Beyer, Media Specialist, was pleasantly surprised to find all the
kids genuinely excited about this book fair, and loved to see how many of
them took home great books!!!!

The Performing Arts Center Committee is pleased to announce the Completion
OF ACT ONE. Join them on April 11, 2005 at 7 p.m. in the LeRoy Collins Leon
County Library as Theatre Project Consultants present and discuss the WHAT?
and HOW MUCH? components of the Performing Arts Center. For more
information call: 850-224-2500.

Track and softball are currently taking place. Please come out and support
the students and teachers during this exciting time.

Also, our SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) visit will be
taking place next Wednesday evening through Friday afternoon. All after
school activities are cancelled because of this important visit.

All 6th & 7th grade parents and students, please mark your calendar for the
evening of Monday, April 25th when we will have our Curriculum Fair from
6:30-7:30 p.m. Students will be given their Course Request Forms (CRF) for
next year, Monday during class. At the fair you can meet Cobb teachers,
review textbooks, and view elective class curriculum. Please come out and
join us. CRF’s will be due sometime that week.

Also, don’t forget to mark your calendar for our 50th Celebration. A
program will take place in the gym from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, April 27 with
other activities going on the rest of the day.

Eighth grade students and parents- The 8th grade Dance, “The Masked Ball”
will take place May 13th from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at the Los Robles Woman’s
Club. The dance is for Cobb 8th graders only. Tickets will be $12 each and

                                PTO NEWS

The regularly scheduled PTO meeting for April 12th has been cancelled to
allow parents to participate in the planning and activities for the 50th

help make this a success: Please contact Laura Rogers, PTO President,
385-7749 or [log in to unmask] to assist with the areas listed
below. The more people we get to help, the more fun it is!

-Volunteers to work a shift of manning a “decade table” in the Media Center
(displays of yearbooks & memorabilia)

-Hospitality and Food Coordinating – help with the food arrangements and
display of the food in the Media Center. Also coordinate lunch
availability and eating space in the cafeteria for visitors.

-Parking Coordinator – work with East Hill for parking during the day.
Place signs in areas to direct visitors.

-Invitations and Alumna check in – Help identify people who need formal
invitations and set up sign-in book for visitors to register. Volunteers
needed throughout the day in the Media Center could direct visitors to the
Program Ceremony.

-Tour Coordination Liaison with the school on which classrooms are
available, provide a map and students to give tours.

-Spirit Sales Table - volunteers needed to sell T-shirts throughout the day
in the Media Center.

-Ceremony Liaison to the school to assist with the set-up of the Ceremony
and pass out programs.

-Balloon blow up and decorations-volunteers needed to decorate the school
with helium balloons and posters.

If you are an alumnae of Cobb, we want you there! Please contact Jenny
Beyer, and she will coordinate a time for you to come in and tape an
interview. We want the students to hear what school was like “back in the
old days”!!!!
