¡§Building the Future Together¡¨

Greetings Parents and Families,

Welcome to Cobb Middle School! I hope your first week at school was
productive and positive. The teachers, staff and administration are
excited to have all of you here and we hope you are off to a wonderful
start. Many of you know about our growing pains at the beginning of the
year. While we welcome are new students (last year we had 730 students and
this year we have 980 students) it will take a little while until we get
all of our teachers hired and the class sizes leveled by not having so
many students in some of the classes. Please be patient with us and know
that we are working as hard and as fast as we can to make sure every
student¡¦s schedule in correct. We appreciate your patience and
understanding. Thanks!!

I wanted to get this first Cub Reporter to you to remind you of a couple of
exciting events that are will take place right away. Our first PTO meeting
is Tuesday evening, August 24th at 7:00 p.m. in the Media Center. Please
attend if you can. We would love to have your participation.

We had our first assembly for each grade level on Friday. Parents, it is
imperative that you help us monitor the way our children dress. The dress
code was on the back to school letter but it is also in the agenda book.
99% of the students are doing a great job¡Kbut we will start sending kids
home this week or calling you to bring in some appropriate attire. We
would appreciate your support. And, we do realize that sometimes kids
change their clothes when they get to school¡K.oh the life of a teen.

Another very important item is we are starting our fall fundraiser with the
Kathryn Beich sales. Please support the PTO in our efforts to raise money
for the school. Those extra dollars bring in resources that our important
to our children. Special congratulations to the students who were selected
to go into the money machine during the assemblies!!

PICTURE DAY- Tuesday, August 31st. We are taking pictures a little earlier
this year and wanted you to be aware.

Parents, thanks for dropping your children off quickly and safely at Parent
Pick-Up. Traffic seems to be moving much better in the mornings. After
the first day of school, everybody has got the hang of making a quick
stop. Thanks!! Sometimes this tight space is a nightmare but you have
turned it into a productive and quick turnaround. Good Job!!

Parents, if your child has some health issues that the school or teachers
need to be aware of, please contact our school nurse, Mrs. Godbee, and
complete the Health History form. Thanks! It is very important that phone
numbers and health information is correct!!

Thanks for your support!!

Principal
