CROSS COUNTRY:
Congratulations to the Girl’s Cross Country team for their 2nd place finish
in the Gretchen Everhart Owl Run on Thursday, September 25, 2008

FOOTBALL
Tuesday, September 30th - Cobb vs. Raa @ LEON H.S. – 6:30 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL
Monday, September 29th – Fairview vs. Cobb @ Fairview M.S. – 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday , October 1st – Montford vs. Cobb @ Montford M.S. – 6:00 p.m.

SCHOOL-WIDE READING PROJECT
All students and staff at Cobb Middle School will begin reading the book
The Revealers by Doug Wilhelm. The book addresses the issue of a boy who is
bullied and how he and his friends ban together to find a solution to the
bullying situation at their school. Students and staff will spend the first
few minutes of their Peer Counseling class reading the novel and
participating in activities centered around the book. Students and staff
will begin reading the book on Monday, September 29th. Culminating
activities include a writing and poetry contest as well as a class door
decorating contest. Parents are invited to read the novel along with their
student.

SCIENCE FAIR
The Science Fair information packet is now available online on the school
homepage. For additional information, please contact your child’s science
teacher.

BAND NEWS
Lately, the beat of the Cobb Middle School Drum Line is being heard around
our campus.  The Drum Line will be performing at all of the football games
this fall.  Thank you to Mr. Clark and Mr. Barnes who have generously
donated their time and talent in this pursuit.

Congratulations to Angela, Mario, and Jasmine. They have successfully
completed the audition requirements for the All-State Band. They will be
auditioning on September 13th at Godby High School.

The Winter Concert will be held on Tuesday, December 9 at 7:00 PM at Cobb
Middle School’s gym. All bands will be performing that night. It will be a
night you surely will never forget.  Please join us for music from around
the world.

SPIRIT
Cobb Spirit Shirts will be available in the front office each Friday for
just $10.00. We currently have all sizes and colors – purple, gray and
white!  (Please bring the exact amount.) Each Friday students and staff are
invited to show their school spirit by wearing Cobb colors!

M&M  MONOGRAMMING
Do you want to have the Cobb logo monogrammed on a shirt, hat or jacket?
The visit M&M Monogramming. They are one of Cobb’s business partners and
they have our logo set-up. They are located at 217 Third Avenue.

All Mentors must attend training and have a background check. Trainings are
available through the Volunteer Office and every Wednesday from10:00 a.m. –
11:00 a.m. at Cobb.
