We know everyone is excited about buying school clothes.  I thought it
might be helpful put the Dress Code and supply list out for your use.  Be
looking for the back school letter to mailed next week.

DRESS CODE
All students are expected to dress in a manner that respects the rights of
all and demonstrates appropriate Cobb campus attire.  If a student is not
in compliance of the dress code, parents will be called to bring
appropriate attire.
1. Dress, skirts, and shorts lengths (including slits in clothing)
should be no shorter than 6 inches from the top of the knee. (Slits in
skirts cannot be more than 6 inches from the top of the knee.) Six (6)
inches is equivalent to a $1.00 bill.
2. All shirts or dresses must have a shoulder seam of at least 3
inches, with no cleavage visible, shirts must cover the chest, back and mid-
section included, when arms are raised. Shirts must not show excessive
armpit areas. Form fitting or overly tight clothing can not be sexually
provocative.
3. Pants shall not be sagging nor shall they allow any undergarment or
part of the body to be exposed.
4. All clothing, jewelry, and/or personal possessions shall not
contain the following:
• racially offensive images or slogans
• drug, tobacco, or alcohol information
• sexually suggested words, pictures, or graphics
• gang related (bandanas, pants with one leg up, etc.)
• violence (graphics, words or pictures representing violence)
5. No hats, hoods, caps, headbands, sleepwear or head coverings will
be allowed during school hours. (Items will be confiscated.) Hats are
allowed during PE only.
6. Curlers, finger-nail polish, and other hair grooming aides (i.e.
hairspray, perfume, cologne, etc.) should be used
  at home and should not be brought to school.  Combs and hairbrushes
should not be used in classrooms.

INCOMING 6TH GRADE SUPPLY LIST


ALL students are required to have an Agenda Book. These may be purchased at
the beginning of the school year for $4.00.

The sixth grade students participate in a routine called “Organizing
Together.” This program helps students learn how to organize their
notebooks, lockers, agenda books, and backpacks to ensure a successful
sixth grade year. The supplies listed below include the materials needed
for the “Organizing Together” program.

2 locks (combination style preferred)
1 box tissues (give to homeroom teacher)
2 three ring binders, with pockets, 1" or 1 1/2"
1 CUB KEEPER or main class notebook (three ring binder, with pockets, 2” or
2 1/2”)
1 "Take Home" notebook pocket/folder, easily identifiable (i.e. bright
color) for homework, parent letters, messages, etc.
16 duotang folders with brads and pockets (16 should be a year's supply, we
recommend buying while they are on sale)
1 spiral notebook for social studies
3 sets of dividers with five tabs
2 highlighter pens
2 boxes colored pencils, 1 for social studies, 1 for other classes
1 zippered pencil case which fits into notebook
1 dictionary for home use
1 small pencil sharpener for desk use
1 small container or box for extra pencils, pens, erasers, etc. for shelf
in locker
A GENEROUS supply of notebook paper, pencils, and pens (dark blue or black,
erasable recommended, NO pastel gel pens allowed)
Backpacks are not allowed to be taken into classrooms. They must fit in
lockers. The inside dimensions of the lockers are 11 3/4 inches by 10 3/4
inches. If your backpack is larger than these dimensions, it will NOT fit
in your locker and may NOT be brought to school! Shop carefully.
Some elective classes have additional supply requirements. Your teachers
will give you a list the first week of school.
