Greetings Parents & Students,

Congratulations to the Girls’ Soccer Team for winning the District 1
Title Championship 2-0!! The girls played a great game against Griffin
in a heated battle for the championship. Not one team scored against
the girls in their division the entire season, and our team scored 19
points over their opponents in our division. Great Job ladies and a
special thanks to Coach Graham and Coach Bolivar for their
coaching!! Also thanks to Patti Doerr for helping with practices.

As you are well aware by now, we are in full swing of FCAT testing.
Students will be testing in reading, math, and science throughout the
weeks of March 2 and March 10. Students are ready for this test…but
please refer to the letter I sent home last week on ways you can help.

Congratulations to the members of the Cobb Symphonic Band who
participated in the Florida Bandmasters Association “Solo and
Ensemble Music Performance Assessment” on Sat. Feb. 15 at Florida
State University. They earned 34 superior ratings and 9 excellent
ratings. We appreciate their dedication to this high standard of
achievement.

Remember the young lady who won the 6th grade Short Story Contest
sponsored by the Leon Reading Council? Well, I spell checked her
name and printed Bridget Wingle….but, it is Bridget SWINGLE. My
apologies, and once again, congratulations!!

The next SAC Meeting is Wed., March 5th at 12:30 in the conference
room. If you would like to be involved in improving student learning
through our School Improvement Plan, we would really like to have
your participation. This meeting lasts only one hour, but is so very
important to the workings of the school. We would like for parents to
come and get involved so they can participate the rest of this year and
be ready to go for 2003-2004.

The Cub Claws will be mailed home the week of March 17th. Spring
Break is March 24-28, so the next Cub Reporter will go home April 8.

As always, thanks for your continued support.

Principal

The third and final payment of $40 is due MARCH 14, 2003.

Several students did not submit their second payment. Parents,
please mark your calendars and have the balance paid by March 14th
so your child does not miss this opportunity. Check or money order
payable to Cobb PTO and given to your child’s PC teacher.

CHAPERONES – Your cost will be approximately $70-75 and will be
collected in April when I have a more definite list of students attending.

Any questions? Please call Julie Doherty, 385-0506.

VOLUNTEERS:

THANKS for all you do to help make our school run smoothly!
Everyone working together helps ensure a friendly, productive school.
The COBB PTO has a litttle something for you. If you have signed the
Volunteer Book (and filled out an application) in the Front Office, there
should be an envelope with your name on it. Ask Ginny in the Front
Office. She'll be more than happy to give it to you! Again, thanks for
making this a great year at Cobb.

Denni Rae, Volunteer Coordinator
