This week students will get in the “spirit” to do their best on the FCAT by
completing several activities using the PIRATES strategies.  Also during
this week, your child will take the required Department of Education
practice problems in reading, math and science (8th grade only).  These
completed booklets will come home with your child at the end of this week.

The reading portion of FCAT will start on Monday, February 27th, followed
by the math portion on Tuesday, February 28th.

Events:
• Interim reports went home last Tuesday, February 7th
• Thursday, February 16 school dance from 2:00pm – 3:45pm
• PTO/SAC meetings Tuesday, February 21 at 6:00PM – a presentation by
EMO Architects of the renovations  planned for the classrooms and cafeteria
• Black History Assembly – Friday, February 24th – schedule of events
later this week
