Greetings Parents & Students,

Report cards went home on Friday, October 25th. Most of the report
cards were excellent and showed how well the students are
progressing. However, if your child needs help in any subject, please
direct him/her to the Homework Center. The Homework Center is free
and open everyday (Mon. - Thurs.) from 2:10 -3:45 p.m. We have
found that students who utilize the Homework Center see significant
improvement in their grades.

Please note, in the Cub Claws you were informed of how to access
the Annual School Report. This report will be available as of
November 15, 2002.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Mrs. Gladden and her
HIP-CAT class for the superb and delicious lunch they served to the
Applied Science and Technology Advisory Council last week. Our
parents, partners, and staff always find it easier to work for Cobb when
they are well fed. Believe me, the food, presentation, and selection,
were impressive. And, speaking of work, a special thanks to all of the
parents, partners and staff who have agreed to again serve in this
advisory capacity to help Cobb’ students continue to achieve success.

Speaking of great things happening, Stenza Daniels, a Cobb student,
found a wallet with $40.00 and turned it in to the front office. The
student who lost the wallet was extremely thankful. But, we are so
impressed with Stenza’s honesty!! She deserves special recognition.
Way to go Stenza!!!!!!

Mrs. Brierton and Mrs. Lahart were once again honored by the
Academic Community for educational excellence. They were both
honored in this year’s edition of the Who’s Who Among America’s
Teachers 2002.

A special thanks to Mrs. Drew and all of the students who attended the
Red Ribbon Rally on Thursday, October 24th. They showed great
spirit and pride in this year’s theme, “Drugs Destroy Dreams”.

To top off this week’s Spirit Week theme, a Pep Rally was held on
Friday, October 25th.  Talk about loud, spirit, enthusiasm, WOW factor;
this Pep Rally was the place to be. Dr. Flanagan, Coach Hicks,
coaches and sports teams, cheerleaders, dance team, all the
students and teachers participated in the best anti-drug rally and
support athletics rally that I have ever seen. Cobb is sure a great
place to work and learn. Great Cobb spirit!!

Thanks to everyone for their support!!

PTO NEWS

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION!

We've all seen them and at one time or another cut them out. That's
right. We are collecting "Box Tops for Education" to help raise funds for
our great school! Please remove the "Box Tops for Education" coupon
that you will find on most General Mills food products, collect them in a
baggie and send them in to your homeroom teacher or the front office.
Make sure you put your homeroom teacher's name on the baggie.
The room who collects the most will receive a SURPRISE! Thanks in
advance for your participation.
