To: 8th Grade parents

From: Godby High School

On Tuesday night, February 26th, the Godby High School Academy of Finance
and the Academy of Architecture Engineering and Construction will host a
Parent Night for any 8th grade parents and students interested in enrolling
in these programs next school term. The meetings will begin at 6:30 PM.
The AOF will meet in the Media Center and the AAEC will meet in the
cafeteria. These meetings are informational and will provide sufficient
time to ask questions and gain a better understanding of both academies.

The Academy of Finance focuses on the development of personal and
professional skills needed to succeed in the area of banking and finance.
Personal finance skills are developed as the program teaches its students
how to develop a budget, stay out of debt, and save for their future by
building wealth. Professional development is acquired through hands-on
learning in our on-campus credit union (sponsored by Envision) and school
store. Through innovative means students learn up-to-date and relevant
skills used in the field of finance today.

The Academy of Architecture Engineering and Construction focuses on the
development of construction related skills. The academic curriculum
provided allows for students interested in entering the workforce
immediately or interested in seeking a college degree. Students will have
the opportunity to experience true hands on experience as the class will
build a house on campus which will be sold at the end of the same school
year.
