What is Kids Voting?

• Kids Voting Leon County is a nonprofit, nonpartisan program devoted
to educating students in grades K-12 about the voting process and civic
responsibility.
• In a country where voter apathy is an ever-increasing problem, Kids
Voting wants to encourage young people to learn early the importance of
exercising their right to vote.
• Kid's Voting Leon County currently has approximately 40,000
students eligible to vote in over 100 precincts!

How do we bring this vision into focus?

• We supply teachers with sample ballots and curriculum support about
the upcoming local, state, and national elections to help educate students
about the issues at school.
• We provide educational materials to students and parents through
the Newspaper in Education pages every Tuesday from September 26 through
November 14 in the Tallahassee Democrat.
• We encourage students to vote with their parents at the Kids Voting
booth at their local polling place on Election Day.

How can you help Kids Voting in our mission?

• Discuss current election issues and candidates with your children
and talk to them about the importance of voting.
• Take your children to vote with you on Election Day at your
precinct.
• Show your enthusiasm for casting your own vote.
• Make a monetary contribution to Kids Voting.
• Volunteer your business, organization, or family to adopt a
precinct for the November 7 election.
