Congratulations to the girl’s volleyball team for an excellent season!

CHICK-FIL-A SPIRIT NIGHT
Monday, October 13th will be Spirit Night at the Chick-Fil-A on North
Monroe Street. Please come out and tell the cashier you are supporting
Cobb! A percentage of the night’s sales will come back to Cobb!

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Each homeroom class is participating in the Box Tops for Education school
competition. The homeroom class who brings in the most Box Tops will
receive a pizza party. In addition, each Box Top we collect brings in ten
cents for the school. Box Tops can now be found on hundreds of items. For

GOODWILL CLOTHING DRIVE
Cobb is participating in the Students Helping Students Goodwill Clothing
Drive. Goodwill will have collection bins on campus Monday, October 13th
and Tuesday, October 14th. Students can bring donations in to their
homeroom teachers.

SCIENCE NIGHT EXTRAVAGANZA
Mark your calendars now for the Cobb Middle Schools Science Night
Extravaganza on Thursday, December 4th. This night Cobb will host the
awards ceremony for the school Science Fair as well as having many onsite
science and technology vendors conducting demonstrations for students! For

8TH GRADE TRIP TO BUSCH GARDENS
8th grade students who are interested in attending the one day trip to
Busch Gardens on May 8th must pay their deposit by Nov. 7th. The first
deposit is $75.00. The total cost for the trip is $151.00 which includes
park admission, a meal voucher for lunch and dinner, transportation and a t-
shirt.

8TH GRADE TRIP TO WASHINGTON D.C.
There is still room for 15 8th graders to attend the Washington D.C. trip

PARENT DROP OFF
Please do not drop your child off on Hillcrest Street. Students are darting
across the road and it is not safe. Parents please go through the entrance
on Lucy Street and drop your child off in front of the gymnasium. We know
the line and the wait can be long, but parents who are dropping students
off on Hillcrest Street are creating problems for parents exiting the
campus and it is dangerous for the students.

END OF THE FIRST GRADING PERIOD
Thursday, October 16th marks the end of the first grading period. Please
take time to review with your child the promotion requirements for their
grade level.  A link to the district promotion brochure can be found on the

SPIRIT
Cobb Spirit Shirts will be available in the front office each Friday for
just $10.00. We currently have all sizes and colors – purple, gray and
white!  (Please bring the exact amount.) Each Friday students and staff are
invited to show their school spirit by wearing Cobb colors!

M&M MONOGRAMMING
Do you want to have the Cobb logo monogrammed on a shirt, hat or jacket?
The visit M&M Monogramming. They are one of Cobb’s business partners and
they have our logo set-up. They are located at 217 Third Avenue.
