                        “Building the Future Together”

Greetings Parents and Students:

I hope you read the article in last week’s Tallahassee Democrat on Tuesday,
March 8th in reference to our 50th Celebration. The alumni meeting will
take place in the Media Center on Thursday, March 31st at 7:00 p.m. If you
know of anyone who went to Elizabeth Cobb Junior High School or Middle
School since the early 50’s, please let them know about this meeting if
they would like to get involved. They can also call Mrs. Laura Rogers, our
PTO President.

The F-CAT testing is over for the 2004-2005 school year. Thanks to all of
the parents for sending the children to school well prepared. Thanks to
all of the students for doing their best and sitting through so many hours
of testing. Thanks to all of the teachers and guidance counselors for
administering and accounting for all of the tests. What a job!! I am sure
our students will show significant learning gains again this year!!

We have been very busy with Mu Alpha Theta winning all kinds of math
trophies at regional competitions these past few Saturdays. Thanks Mr.
Coleman and Mu Alpha Theta students!! The Cheerleaders did a fantastic job
at the Cheerleading Showcase last Thursday evening. Thanks Ms. Mays and
cheerleaders!!!!!!!! The Symphonic Band earned straight superior ratings
from all four judges at the Music Performance Assessment last Thursday
evening at Godby High School. Mr. Miller and the Symphonic Band are all to
be commended for their hard work!!! Congratulations to the 2005 Brain Bowl
team sponsored by Mrs. Brierton and Ms. Parrott. The team of Amy, Michael,
Graham, Jason, Brandon s, and Joseph r brought home the 3rd place trophy
for all of Leon County. Great Job!!!!!!!!

Graham has qualified to represent Cobb Middle School at the state level
National Geography Bee on April 1, 2005 at Jacksonville University. He is
one of the 100 students who qualified to compete in the state. One winner
from each state will advance to the national competition. Congratulations
Graham and Good Luck!!!
