Listserv Announcements for the week of October 27th – 31st

GIRLS BASKETBALL:
Monday, October 27th – Cobb vs Raa @ Cobb 6:00 p.m.

REPORT CARDS
Students will receive their report cards on Monday, October 27th. Cobb is
proud to say that 375 students made the honor roll including 110 – 6th
graders, 119 – 7th graders and 146 – 8th graders! Congratulations
students!!

MATH COUNTS & MU ALPHA THETA:
Is your child interested in showing off their math skills? Then Mu Alpha
Theta or Math Counts might be for them! Starting in November students will
be able to show what they know in math in a variety of math competitions.
The first one will be Saturday, November 22nd at Rickards High School where
students can compete in the Pre-Algebra, Algebra or Geometry divisions.
Students interested in participating should see their math teacher.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 31ST
Please do not allow your child to dress up or come in costume to school on
Friday, October 31st. This is a regular school day.

FCAT EXPLORER
FCAT Explorer software is provided by the Florida Department of Education
as a resource for all Florida students and teachers. The software is
available via the Internet from home or school at
http://www.fcatexplorer.com. All students have been given passwords and can
access this wonderful site from any computer with internet access. FCAT
Explorer provides additional practice in the areas of math, science and
reading.

TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Each homeroom class is participating in the Box Tops for Education school
competition. The homeroom class who brings in the most Box Tops will
receive a pizza party. In addition, each Box Top we collect brings in ten
cents for the school. Box Tops can now be found on hundreds of items. For

SCIENCE NIGHT EXTRAVAGANZA
Mark your calendars now for the Cobb Middle Schools Science Night
Extravaganza on Thursday, December 4th. This night Cobb will host the
awards ceremony for the school Science Fair as well as having many onsite
science and technology vendors conducting demonstrations for students! For

8TH GRADE TRIP TO BUSCH GARDENS
8th grade students who are interested in attending the one day trip to
Busch Gardens on May 8th must pay their deposit by Nov. 7th. The first
deposit is $75.00. The total cost for the trip is $151.00 which includes
park admission, a meal voucher for lunch and dinner, transportation and a t-
shirt.
