PRINCIPAL’S PAWS
Congratulations to our new PTO Officers for 2004-2005.
President: Kim Williams

The PTO needs our help to vote on a PTO Elect position for 2004-2005 school
year.  Please select your top two choices on the ballot (located on the
back of newsletter) or write in your own choices.  Turn in to your child’s
teacher by the last day of school.  The results will by posted on the list
serve.  Note-your choices need to have PTO experience.

MS. HOPE’S CORNER
Parents can expect copies of their child’s FCAT scores sent home today.
Parents of third graders who are attending the summer reading academy are
reminded that the classes begin on June 7 at Apalachee Elementary from
8:15am-1:45pm. Only two absences are permitted.  If recommended for
placement for good cause is checked on your chilld’s report card a letter
will be sent when, and if, approved by the district sometime this summer.

MEDIA NEWS
A special thank you to four hard-working fifth graders for helping with the
Chaires Morning Show each day!  Dylan Brumblow, Chase Barineau, Seth
Garrett and Willie Watson gave up their play time each morning this year to
help produce the show.  These boys learned their “trade” quickly and were
efficient and responsible Chaires Morning Show producers.  This group has
set high standards for next year’s crew!

STUDENT COUNCIL NEWS
First of all, hats off to a job well done by all of those who participated
in the Student Council Campaign.  You did an excellent job!  Remember that
you are all leaders when you stand for what is right.  Now, the time you
all have been waiting for has come.  The Student Council officers for the
2004-2005 school year are…

ACCELERATED READERS
We would like to congratulate all of our great readers here at Chaires.
Congratulations to all of our Kindergarten and first graders for learning
how to read this year.  Keep reading this summer!

Good News At Chaires
Spirit Stick Award
Congratulations to the following most “Spirited” classes for the week of
May 14th: Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Padgett, Mrs. Laney, Mrs. Grigg, and Mrs.
Walker. These classes had the most students in their grade level wearing
purple and gold.

Golden Spoon Award
Congratulations to the May Golden Spoon Award Winning classes.  Remember,
these are the classes at each grade level that had the best lunchroom
behavior-earning symbols at least 70% of the days!  Mrs. Bist/Mrs. Goree,
Mrs. Murphy, Ms. Blair, Ms. Miller and Mrs. J. Turner.  We will have a
treat for you at lunch on Monday!  Everyone will receive a treat at lunch
today!  Our PTO has purchased ice cream for everyone.  Boys and girls,
please be sure to write a thank you note!
