PRINCIPAL¡¦S PAWS
We are continuing with the HVAC renovation in the 400 building. The Media
Center, Computer Lab, Guidance office and production room are now located
in the 700 building until the HVAC is finished in January. Please stop by
the front office to see where these rooms are located. The hallway on the
west side of the office is now fenced in to keep the children safe from the
construction. We appreciated your patience through all of our renovations.

MRS. MCCASKILL¡¦S CORNER
Parents, we are committed to keeping your children as safe as possible.
Therefore, we are asking that:
1. You stop by the office, sign in and get a visitor pass when you have
arranged to visit your child's classroom or to have lunch;
2. If you normally come to the school to pick your child up before your
child is dismissed, please stop by the office for a visitor pass;
3. If your child is late, bring your child in, sign in and if you are
walking the child to the classroom, please get a visitor pass.
Parents are strongly encouraged to make an appointment with teachers to
discuss your child. As you know, teachers are very busy in the morning and
are not able to talk to parents at length.
We sincerely appreciate your support and want you to continue to feel that
your children are safe at our school and that we are doing all that we can.

THANK YOU FROM MS. KILPATRICK
There are really no words to express my gratitude for your concern and
support after the passing of my husband, Kelly. He loved being a part of
Chaires and had become so attached to ¡§our¡¨ children since his retirement
four years ago. The memorial fund in his memory was such a wonderful
surprise. I¡¦m sure he is smiling down on us as we had many discussions
about needing money for the music program. Just recently, my mother passed
away, and again, I appreciate your sympathy, cards and words of
encouragement. You are the best parents, students, faculty and staff to be
found anywhere!

FLAG AND ICE PATROL
Congratulations and our thanks to the 2004-2005 Flag and Ice Patrol
members. These students were chosen after they wrote essays telling why
they wanted to volunteer to work before and after school raising, lowering,
and folding the school¡¦s American Flag and filling the Clinic ice bucket
each morning. Please be sure and thank these dedicated students when you
see them performing these important tasks. Lilyan Howard, Mary Williams,
Justin Green, Zach Achler, Forest Beveridge, and Jonathan Howard.

YEARBOOK COVER
It¡¦s that time again! We are looking for some young artists who may be
interested in designing this year¡¦s 2004-2005 yearbook cover. If your
design is chosen, you will receive a free yearbook. Please follow these
rules carefully:
-Draw a design on white 8 1/2 x 11 paper
-Black and White only (pencil or ink)
-¡§Chaires Elementary School¡¨ and ¡§2004-2005¡¨ must be included in the design
