PRINCIPAL’S PAWSE
It's getting to be the time of year when the students are coming down
with "spring fever." Your support in keeping the children focused and on
task until the break is greatly appreciated!
If you don't already have plans for this weekend, please plan to attend the
Third Annual Leon County Honors Chorus Concert this Saturday at 2:30 at the
Ruby Diamond Auditorium on the FSU campus. I had the opportunity to see
the children rehearsing and was SO proud of the wonderful job the children
are doing! You will be amazed and moved. Special thanks to Mrs. Jan
Kilpatrick for getting the children prepared for such an exciting event.
I'd also like to thank Ms. Erin Pinkerton, fifth grade intern, who has
worked with Mrs. Kilpatrick in preparing the students.

MRS. OLK’S CORNER
Along with “spring fever” comes a change in clothing and shoes! Please
remember that Chaires does have a dress code that will be strictly
enforced. Some of things that are not allowed when the weather gets warmer
are tank tops (boys or girls), halter tops, flip flops, strapless sandals,
and slides. If you do not have a copy of the dress code and would like one,
please call the office or stop by for a copy.

5TH GRADE HONORS CHORUS
Our Fifth Grade Honors Chorus is joining with thirteen other elementary
schools in Leon County to form an Honors Chorus. They will perform at FSU
in the Ruby Diamond Auditorium. This is a wonderful “once in a lifetime
experience” for these students. We have been learning the songs at each
individual school, and then we will join together with over 200 other
students for the performance. Our chorus members will be wearing new purple
bow ties and cummerbunds for this formal occasion. The free performance is
Saturday, March 15th at 2:30pm at the Ruby Diamond Auditorium. The chorus
has worked very hard and would love to see our Chaires family support us
with your presence. Jan Kilpatrick, Music Teacher

SPRING BREAK CAMP
March 24-28 is Spring Break. Extended Day is planning a camp for that week.
Come and spend this week with us and explore the galaxy and our solar
system. Join us on a 5-day adventure beyond the starts. Be a “STAR” at our
dance and karaoke party, jump on our moonwalks, slide on the water slide,
make “out of this world” arts and crafts, build your own robots, search for
aliens, and much more! The sky’s the limit!! Contact Cathy Davis at 922-
2866 for more information, and look for a Spring Break Camp flyer to arrive
home soon.
