PRINCIPAL’S PAWS
I would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable spring break! Remember,
tomorrow is a planning day and next week is spring break. We'll see
everyone back bright and early on Monday, March 29th. Let's come back
ready to work hard and finish the year on a very positive note!

MS. HOPE’S CORNER
Spring Break is the week of March 22-26, 2004 and students return to school
on Monday, March 29, 2004. While Spring is a time of renewal and also a
time of planting, cleaning, relaxing, etc., it is my sincere wish that an
enjoyable, fun filled, relaxing, and safe time be had by all. ENJOY YOUR
BREAK!!!!!!!!!

SILENT AUCTION
A flyer was sent home today with your child seeking donations for the
Silent Auction. Donations can be monetary, gift certificates for goods or
services, or items from your business. Since the Chaires Panther PTO is a
registered non-profit organization, any donation received can be considered
tax deductible. We will provide you with a receipt documenting your gift.
You may drop off donations with your child’s teacher or in the front
office.

SCIENCE EXPO
Our Science Expo will be held on April 20th. All projects must be here on
Monday April 19th. Late projects will not be accepted. NO
EXCEPTIONS!!!!! We will NOT be selling backboards at school.

HUMAN-I-TEES
This years Human-i-Tees sale will run until April 2nd, allowing you to sell
over Spring Break! The top seller from grades PreK-2 and grades 3-5 will
each receive a “pawsome” prize above and beyond the prizes given by Human-i-
Tees! Proceeds from this fundraiser will help to fund our new Vita Fitness
Course on the 3-5 playground to be installed this spring!

CHORUS NOTES
Congratulations to our 5th grade chorus students who were chosen to be in
the Honor’s Chorus group with 15 other elementary schools. They spent many
hours preparing to perform last Saturday, March 13th, in Ruby Diamond
Auditorium - an experience of a lifetime. A special thanks to two parents,
Mrs. Sapp and Mrs. Armstrong, for coming and helping us with lunch.

SPRING FESTIVAL
Spring Festival will be held on April 17th this year. We would like to
invite anyone that is interested, eager and ready to begin working on their
classes’ booth to please join us for an organizational and working meeting.
The meetings will begin on Tuesday, March 9 from 8:00am-9:00am and also
6:00pm-7:00pm in the Media Center. There will be no meetings the week of
Spring Break. We will continue these meetings every Tuesday until the
festival. If you will need any special supplies to work on your booth,
please call or e-mail Kim Williams at 509-2759 or [log in to unmask]
Together, we can make this festival the one to remember.

CAMP WOE-BE-GONE
The Caring Tree of Big Bend Hospice is sponsoring Camp Woe-Be-Gone on April
24th from 8:00am-5:00pm at the Girl Scout Camp for All Seasons. This is a
special day of fun, learning, and sharing for children ages 5-12 who have
experienced death of a loved one. Campers can benefit even if their loss
is not recent. Pre-registration is required and the fee is $10.00 per
individual camper or $15.00 per family. Transportation will be provided and
scholarships are available upon request. Call Candace McKnight or Pam
Mezzina at 878-5310 for more information or to register.

LOST AND FOUND
Now that spring is in the air our lost and found needs cleaning out. If
your child has lost a coat or jacket please have them check the rack in the
lunchroom. Parents are welcome to come and check as well. We will donate
any leftover clothing to a local charity on April 9th.

Order forms are available in the front office. Please make checks payable
to Chaires Elementary for $15.00.

UPCOMING EVENTS
