PRINCIPAL’S PAWSE
Can you believe that the first semester is almost over? We have been
buzzing with learning and exciting activities at Chaires this week! Special
thanks to Mrs. Perez for the evening with astronomers and Coach Lang for
the Jump Rope for Heart! Also, special thanks to all of those wonderful PTO
Moms and Dads that helped children to shop at the holiday store all week.
Please plan to join us on Tuesday evening for our holiday dinner and
program! It's always an event that the whole family enjoys. Remember, we
have early release - at 11:20 - on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday!

BOOK SWAP!
The Media Center is having a book swap on Tuesday, December 13th!!! Bring
in a gently used book and exchange it for another! Get something you
haven't read for the winter holidays! Limit - 3 books for swapping.

The Yearbook Club meeting is cancelled for December 14th.

HOLIDAY DINNER AND PROGRAM
The holiday dinner will be held on Tuesday, December 13th from 5:00pm to
6:00pm in the cafeteria. The holiday program will begin at 6:00pm in the
cafeteria. While you're here, stop by and visit the holiday store. It will
be open on this day from 4:00pm to 7:30pm.

LAST CALL FOR LOST AND FOUND
If you have lost a jacket, or any clothing item, please have your child
check the rack in the cafeteria. We will be donating any items left after
December 14th to a local charity.

WINTER HOLIDAYS
The winter holidays are fast approaching!! The school will be closed from
December 17 through January 1st. There is a teacher planning day on Monday,

APPROPRIATE REWARDS
Some parents bribe children with material things to get them motivated.
But teachers often encourage parents to use other incentives. For example:
• Specific praise, such as "I'm so proud that you didn't give up."
• A trip to the zoo, museum or other special place with a parent.
• A meal of the child's choice.
• A chance to stay up late.
• A slumber party with one or two close friends.
MOVING OVER THE HOLIDAYS?
If you are planning to move over the holidays, please let the office know
ahead of time so that we can prepare a withdrawal form if necessary, and
gather the necessary paperwork to transfer your child's records to the
appropriate school. It is possible for your child to finish the school year
here at Chaires even though you move out of zone at this time. We would
need 2 new proofs of residency to change the address if this is the case.
Please call the office if you have any questions regarding this matter (878-
8534).

UPCOMING EVENTS
Please mark your calendar and plan to join us for these upcoming events!
Please note that the items with an X indicate that we will be seeking
parent volunteers to assist us. If you are able to assist, please contact
the front office by calling 878-8534.
