PRINCIPAL’S PAWSE
With only two weeks of school left, we are still working hard at Chaires
Elementary School! We also have many exciting activities planned as we
begin to close out the school year. Next week our kindergarten students,
Pre-K students, and fourth grade recorder group will perform at 8:00 and
9:15 on Tuesday morning. (We won't have an evening show, so parents of
performers please plan to come to one of the morning shows. We'll have
special seating for you.) On Tuesday evening starting at 5:30, our PTO
will be having year end wrap up meeting and volunteer
recognition/celebration. If you have volunteered this year - which so many
of you have - please join us as we thank you for your hard work and giving
spirit! Finally, I'd like to remind parents to send in your letters! We
have begun accepting parent letters for the next school year describing the
type of teacher and learning environment that is best for your child.
Remember, do not mention names of specific teachers, and just describe what
works best for your child. Please address them to me and turn them in by
May 27th.

MRS. MCCASKILL’S CORNER
Parents of students K-3 participated in the Red Cross Fire House activity
on Thursday, May 12 and 13, 2005. I hope the children learned some safety
rules to use during a fire emergency.
We still need your assistance in getting your boys and girls to school on
time. We have too many of our boys and girls being dropped off after the
tardy bell, without parental supervision. Please help us with this
problem. If your child is late, please stop by the office and sign them
in. Have a Great Weekend.

PTO Meeting & Volunteer Awards
Come and join us for a special PTO meeting on Tuesday, May 17th at 6:00pm
in the Media Center. We will be thanking all of our wonderful volunteers
for making this school year such a success. Snacks will be provided.

Yearbook on DVD Cover Design Contest
Monday is the final day to get your entries into Mrs. Munn. That means you
have the weekend to put those final details on your art work. The art room
has plenty of paper if you need an extra sheet. Remember to put your name
(first and last), your grade, teacher and age on the BACK of your art work.
Two designs from each class will be judged by our distinguished panel of
judges. One final art work will be chosen. The winner will receive a free
yearbook on DVD. The other art works will be displayed at the Vineyard
Publix and around Chaires campus.
