PTO Year In Review
·Orientation – Featuring the new Panther PTO Handbook
·Class Room Parents – The roll was defined and trainings were held.   Now
we need a Classroom Parent Liaison on the Board.
·Kim Williams made new curtains for the Cafeteria and the PTO funded the
Panther Mural.  Promotion of art and self-esteem.
·Gift Wrap Sales made $ 8,333,50.  We will be looking for a vendor for next
year.
·A+ School Celebration and Field Day.  The best in 5 years for volunteers
and new faces.  Pepsi/Gatorade and Krembeck supported the event.
·Cookie Dough sales made $ 6,265.91.  We are looking for a different vendor
with a Friday delivery date.
·Skate Nights – Wonderful partner Skate World.  Great nights of skating for
the kids and clipping Campbell Soup Labels and chatting for the parents.
We made $ 472.00 and counting. Don’t forget the summer nights.   Same
Tuesday.
·Holiday Store – We made $ 1,383.09 and gave the kids a chance to buy for
their loved ones.  We are going to change vendors.
·Gift Card sales – We did fair in sales but, if we do this again, we will
make sure of the contracted vendors and sell them before Christmas shopping
season.
·Holiday Supper and Musical.  What a magical night.
·Grade Level Nights and performances.  These will be fundraisers for
4th/5th grades and for music at the other grade levels.
·Pre – K picnic tables from the Eagle Scout.  Will be more organized in the
future.
·Humanities Sales – Help the Rain Forest.   We made approx. $ 1500.00.   We
will give this more time next year.
·Book Fairs – These funds are used for the Media Center.  We will continue
to focus here to increase funds raised.
·Panther Prowl – The first of many to come..I hope.  To support fitness and
fun.  A 1 – mile fun walk/run and the shirts were great.
·Spring Festival and Silent Auction – Great baskets, wonderful weather and
we made a record breaking $ 6,445.42.  Next year we will change only a few
things.  Hard to improve on such a great event.
·Teacher Appreciation – Kim Williams is the Apprentice of Chaires.  She got
the donation for the wonderful lunch for the teachers and staff.
·PTO Appreciation –  A special night to honor the many parents who
contributed to the greater than 4,000 volunteer hours.
·Other PTO contributions:  White Boards in rooms (Richard Noakes), Fans in
the cafeteria (Richard Noakes), Campbell Soup Labels (Kim Williams) and Box
Tops (Trish Ekberg), Incentive Awards/Dog Tags, Panther dedicated to Jo
Marie Olk in honor of her many years of service to all the students of
Chaires  Elementary School.

The PTO had a wonderful year with a wonderful PTO Board responsible for the
new 501 (c) (3) status.

We will strive to improve by addressing:  The Parent Patrol, monthly
Executive Board Meetings, a separate committee for Spirit Sales, the use of
Panther Bucks to “appreciate” our volunteers on an ongoing basis, gaining
more Partners for the school, gaining more mentors for the school,
increasing the support for the music program.  Feel free to express areas
of concern you might have.  We will have summer meetings and the dates will
be available on the Chaires web page.

Make it your goal to be more involved in the 2004-2005 school year.
