PRINCIPAL’S PAWSE
I’d like to thank all of the Volunteers who help make Chaires Elementary
School such a great place to learn. Whether you are in the classes once a
week or supporting the teachers from home, we know that we are lucky to
have such wonderful support! It truly makes a difference for our children
to see the positive effects of volunteerism and public service. One
important way we show the level of community and parental involvement is
through completing logs of the volunteer time put in. If you have
volunteered this year, PLEASE be sure to fill out your log so that we
can “count” your hours of service toward the goal of earning a “Golden
School Award.” Special thanks to ALL Chaires volunteers who have logged
their hours so far! They include: Evelyn Wiley, Sabrina Cole, Amy Rivera,
Ruth McKain, Tracy Janicki, Frank Brigance, Justin Davis, Justin Green,

MRS. MCCASKILL’S CORNER
Our 5th grade chorus produced another excellent program. They presented the
Black History Program on Tuesday evening. Parents, our FCAT Reading, Math,
Science, and NRT testing will begin February 28, 2005. If you would like a
printed schedule of the test dates, please stop by the office. Our
students must continue to come to school every day and arrive on time. We
want them to read every day and get a good night’s sleep. Thank you
parents for reminding your children to walk in the halls and not run. We
have 2 more FCAT Saturdays, February 19 and 26, 2005. Remember Monday,
February 21st is a holiday for students and teachers. Have a GREAT LONG
WEEKEND!
