PRINCIPAL’S PAWSE
I would like to thank the Panther PTO and all of our dedicated volunteers
for the fabulous holiday store that was available for students all week.
It took a lot of teamwork, effort, and patience as the shop was full at all
times! I know that the friends and family members of our children will be
excited with their gifts. Don’t forget . . . we have our annual holiday
dinner and program on Tuesday evening. Please plan to join us for that
exciting event. We look forward to former Chaires students returning to
volunteer by assisting with serving the dinner, as well.

MRS. MCCASKILL’S CORNER
Calling all elves!
We have some needs and thought that you might be able to help us out!
1. Bike repairs needed for Pre-K bicycles. If you are mechanically
inclined and you can help us in this area, please contact Laura Vaughn, Pre-
K team leader.
2. Upholstery repairs needed for our clinic cots. If you are in the
business or have a friend or family member who can assist us, please
contact Penny Church, our School Health Assistant.
3. Chairs needed! Our Chaires Cares Relay for Life team will be
auctioning off chairs that are decorated by each class. If you have a
gently used chair that you would like to donate, please drop it by the
front office!

HOLIDAY DINNER AND PROGRAM
Please join us on December 14th at 5:00pm for a delicious holiday dinner in
the Cafeteria. We will be serving Turkey, Ham, mashed potatoes, green
beans, roll and a drink. The cost for Adults is $5.00 and Children $3.00.
Ticket pre-order forms were sent home on Tuesday. Tickets will also be
sold on Tuesday night. Volunteers are needed to help set up (3:00pm) and
serve (5:00pm). Please contact Kim Williams at 509-2759 if you can help.
Mrs. Kilpatrick and the 4th Grade students will be presenting the Holiday
Program beginning at 6:00pm.

EARLY RELEASE
The only early release day for December will be on Friday the 17th.
Dismissal is at 11:20am. Boxed lunches will be available for purchase.

LOST AND FOUND
Now that we are moving into the cooler months, our lost and found is
growing. If you have lost a jacket, or any clothing item, please have your
child check the rack in the cafeteria. To help us in returning a lost
jacket to your child, please write their name on the tag.

TEACHER PLANNING DAY
Monday, January 3rd is a teacher planning day. There is no school for
students. STUDENTS RETURN FROM THE HOLIDAY BREAK ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 4TH.

PLANNING TO MOVE OVER THE HOLIDAYS?
Holiday time is a popular time for families to move to other areas. If you
are planning to move over the holidays, please let the office know ahead of
time so that we can prepare a withdrawal form and make sure your child’s
records are in order. If you have any questions, please call us at 878-
8534.

ART NEWS
Thank you for bringing egg cartons and plastic tubs to the art room. We are
putting them to good use, as we mix paint. We will continue to use them
throughout the year, so please keep sending them in. In January each 3rd
grader will need an adult sized shoebox. If you have any extras please
bring them to the Art Room. Our free drawing area is getting low on paper.
We would be thankful for paper of any kind or color, even printed on one
side is OK. I hope everyone has a Happy Holiday!

UPCOMING EVENTS
Please mark your calendar and plan to join us for these upcoming events!
Please note that the items with an X indicate that we will be seeking
parent volunteers to assist us. If you are able to assist, please contact
the front office by calling 878-8534.

29thWAY TO GO!

Winter Festival News
Congratulations to Chaires Pre-K for earning the 1st Place Blue Ribbon for
the tree decorating contest. Cate Marron (one of our Pre-K aides) worked
for weeks assisting our Pre-K students in making adorable, imaginative
ornaments, and a Potato Head tree topper for the Toyland theme. There were
many entrants city wide, but Chaires had the most original and child made
ornaments. AWESOME!
