PRINCIPAL’S PAWS’
If you haven’t had a chance to see the Chaires Chorus performing at the
Vineyard Publix or at the Festival of Lights Celebration, then you have one
more chance to see them before the holidays! The fourth graders and the
Chaires Chorus will be performing on Tuesday, December 16th starting at
6:30 pm in the cafeteria. Please plan to come out for a special holiday
meal prior to the show, starting at 5:00pm.
Remember, we’ve got early release days on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
next week. School gets out at 11:20. Children will have the opportunity
to get a boxed lunch before dismissal.

MRS. OLK’S CORNER
Recently we have had some problems with students buying ice cream with
money that was given to them at home to buy lunch. Students end up with
not enough money and then charge lunch. Many parents have been surprised
lately when the school calls to report that their child has several charges
in the lunchroom. Please remind your child that ice cream purchases are
extra and should not be made with lunch money. Another reminder: if your
child has several charges in the lunchroom and the account is not brought
up to date it could result in him/her receiving a peanut butter and jelly
sandwich for lunch instead of the regular lunch.

YEARBOOK NEWS
Congratulations to the winner of our yearbook design contest, Landon Rush,
whose artwork will be used for the cover. We also had several other designs
that were chosen to be used as artwork throughout the yearbook. They are:
Julia Frichter, Dennis Pickett, Frankie Richardson, Lauryn Higdon and
Justin Dobson. Thank you for all your creative input.

PHOTOS WANTED
Parents, we are looking for photos for the yearbook. Have you have taken
any pictures at the Dare Graduation, Skate Night, field trips or any school
function? You can drop off any donated photos to Susan Fordham in the
office.

STUDENT COUNCIL
Student Council is sponsoring a toy drive for a local Children’s Home and a
Refuge Center. Please send in an unwrapped toy for someone who may not
have a Christmas like yours. The Student Council Officers will collect and
deliver the toys on December 17th.

LOST AND FOUND
Now that the cold weather has arrived our lost and found pile is growing.
If your child has lost a coat, jacket, sweatshirt or any clothing item
please check the rack located in the lunchroom. After the holidays, any
leftover clothing will be donated to Coats for Kids.

PIZZA PARTY
Congratulations to Mrs. Padgett’s class for winning a Pizza Party from
Skate World. They had the most children participate at Skate Night in our
first school session.
