PRINCIPAL’S PAWS
It is with great sadness that I share with you that this will be the last
issue of the school newsletter with the section titled "Mrs. Olk's
Corner." Mrs. Olk will be transferring to Caroline Brevard Elementary
School next week to be their Assistant Principal. She will be missed
terribly as she has been a member of the Chaires family for the past 18
years. Mrs. Olk, we all wish you the best. We love you and we will miss
you!
In next week's newsletter, we will have a new section titled, "Mrs. Hope's
Corner." We will be welcoming Mrs. Fannie Hope as our Assistant Principal
on Tuesday, January 20th. Mrs. Hope comes to us with a wealth of
experience in Leon County Schools. She has been at Ft. Braden for the past
ten years! We hope that you will all make her feel welcome and quickly
make her a new addition to our Chaires family.
As always, if you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to
contact me by phone at 878-8534 or by email at

MRS. OLK’S CORNER
It is with a very heavy heart that I write my final article for the Chaires
Newsletter! As many of you already know, I found out Monday afternoon that
I will be leaving Chaires to move to Caroline Brevard Elementary as their
Assistant Principal. I look forward to this new experience and learning
opportunity and know it will help me grow professionally. However, after
17 wonderful years, I consider Chaires my home and the entire faculty,
staff, students and parents to be my family. Words cannot express how very
much Chaires means to me, has given to me and how much I will miss being
here. There will ALWAYS be a special place in my heart for all of you in
the Chaires Family.

GREAT NEWS
We would like to congratulate our School Related Employee of the Year:
Rosa Robinson and our Teacher of the Year: Elaine Padgett. We announced
to them by surprising Mrs. Robinson with her daughter (Myra Harp) and grand
daughter presenting the balloons! We TRIED to surprise Mrs. Padgett, but
on her way to the library, she caught us in the act. But her husband was
here to join in the celebration. Please stop by and hug them today!
