To celebrate Fire Prevention Week, the Tallahassee Fire department (TFD)
has planned a morning of activities on Saturday, October 15, from 10-12:00
at the Downtown Marketplace on Adams Street.  Personnel will be on hand to
demonstrate fire-related activities, including rappelling from fire trucks,
mock extrications, fire truck displays, fire prevention education, and much
more.  Making a special appearance is the TFD’s mascot SPARKY!  Sparky will
be on hand to demonstrate fire safety to children and pose for pictures.

Congratulations to Cindy Dick, new Chief for the Tallahassee Fire
Department!  Cindy is a Chaires community member and proud parent of a
Chaires student! Way to go Cindy.  Please go out to this event on Saturday
to show Cindy your support!
