Dear Chaires Volunteers,
This is Teacher Appreciation Week. Please remember to let all of your
children's teachers know how much their hard work means to your family.
One way to show it is to help the Chaires teachers and staff have an
extra long lunch on Wednesday, May 6th with fabulous desserts. PTO is
providing a Cinco de Mayo Fiesta, and we still need help as described
below, especially with class supervision.
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Luncheon:
Many volunteers are still needed to make Wednesday, May 6th a special
day for teachers as we give them a special Teacher and Staff
Appreciation Luncheon. In order to give the teachers a full hour (way
more than their usual hurried lunchtime) to relax and enjoy their lunch,
we ask volunteers to come in and assist in supervision from 11:00 am
until 1:15 pm. Volunteers only need to help supervise classes in the
cafeteria and help supervise them on the playground. This is always a
fun day. Consider taking your own child's class and another before or
after. We also loved the baked goods sent in for Fall Festival and
know that the teachers would love some, too! Please let us know if you
can send in something to help provide dessert for that day.

Also, please plan to attend our final PTO general meeting on Tuesday,
May 5th in the Media Center at 6:00. Child care will be provided.
If you can help, please call Julie Sander at 942-0312, call the school
at 488-5977 or e-mail [log in to unmask]
Don't forget to stay tuned for announcements from teachers about
end-of-year events and field trips that need your participation! Please
remember that all field trip chaperones and volunteers in the classroom
need a current volunteer form on file. It only takes a few minutes to
fill out a form and give it to office staff before the event. Florida
law requires that predator checks be run on all volunteers working with
our children, and we can't do that at 5:00 am when the buses are being
loaded for Sea World or St. Augustine!

As always, thanks for being a part of Chaires and for making these
events a success!

 Sincerely,

 Julie Sander, Volunteer Coordinator
