Letter from our Principal
Welcome Back! I am proud to report that our first week of school was
AWESOME! Why, because our students have been so well behaved and on task!
Thanks, Parents/Guardians for supporting our efforts to ensure that Oak Ridge
is a positive, safe and pleasant environment for learning.
This year promises to be an exhilarating and productive one as we
collectively continue to develop and expand our school improvement efforts in
becoming an "A" and "Blue Ribbon School." I know that each of you will play
an important role in the attainment of our mission, goals and objectives.
Remember, when we (school, home and community) work as a T.E.A.M.,
TOGETHER EVERYONE ACHIEVES MORE!
  Respectfully,
  Hodgetta A. Huckaby, Principal

IMPORTANT INFORMATION...
Remember...
Students need to be at school ON TIME to receive breakfast this year!
Breakfast is no longer delivered to classrooms. STUDENTS WILL BE ESCORTED TO
THE CAFETERIA between 7:00 a.m. and 7:40 a.m. Any child arriving after this
time will not receive breakfast.

     Tardiness
All students are expected to be in school on time each day school is in
session and remain until the dismissal bell unless a valid reason exists for
leaving early.
Elementary students who are chronically tardy or leave early without an
acceptable excuse more than five (5) times in a calendar month or ten (10)
times in a 90 calendar day period will be subjected to action.

Parents must come in to sign in late or tardy students. If you choose
not to come in, the tardy will be marked unexcused.

It is important to be ON TIME to pick up your child/children daily!

When your child is taking a different way home, we need to written note
to verify the change, otherwise we will not know to make the change! Thanks!

A Message from McFarland....
Thanks for an incredible beginning to my second year as assistant
principal at Oak Ridge Elementary, where "Lofty Flight is Mandatory"! I have
enjoyed seeing your familiar faces and friendly smiles as well as receiving
those wonderful, "I’m glad to be back", hugs from your children.
We have all been working hard this summer to prepare for the new school
year. Our teachers and staff have welcomed your children with opened arms and
have exciting plans for the upcoming months. T.E.A.M.-Together Everyone
Achieves More is our theme for this year. We want you to know that without
you, our T.E.A.M. would not be complete. Your support and participation are
valued and appreciated. Please let your child’s teacher know if and how you
can volunteer in or out of the classroom. As a T.E.A.M. we are all working
toward helping your children reach their goals and strive for excellence. At
Oak Ridge Elementary, all of our EAGLES will fly!
Sincerely, Kim McFarland
