Godby Scholarship Fund Receives Extraordinary Gift
The Association of Godby Graduates Legacy Scholarship (AGGLS) Fund received
an extraordinary gift last week from Dr. Alisa Ghazvini. Dr. Ghazvini,
formerly Alisa Shumate, Godby class of ‘77, presented the AGG with a
$1000.00 check to be earmarked for scholarship. Dr. Ghazvini was the guest
speaker for the AGG Hall of Fame dinner last Thursday evening were she
challenged alumni to become involved in association activities to assist
Godby High. These dollars will be used to participate in a state match
grant program. Ultimately two worthy graduating Godby seniors will receive
a $1000.00 scholarship each.
The AGG began AGGLS in 2004 and in just a short time has, to date, given
$1,250.00 in scholarships. The AGG has also collected and appropriated for
two $500.00 scholarships this May and for two $1000.00 scholarships in May
2007. This gift and others will be added on.

$1,250.00, Assorted Band Alumni, presented summer of 2003. Fund were used
to erect the Jeff Bradford Auditorium sign
* An Endowed TCC Scholarship pays for tuition and books at TCC for two
years. These scholarships are awarded annually to a graduating Godby senior.
