11/1/04 – 2/14/05
Youth for Understanding – National Scholarships – Scholarships are
available for students interested in participating in an exchange program.
Visit www.yfu-usa.org or call 1-800-Teenage for an application and
additional information.

11/20/04 Veterans of Foreign Wars:
Voice of Democracy Audio Essay – Students in grades 9th – 12th have a
chance to win a $25,000.  Essay topic: “Celebrating our Veterans’ Service.”
Veterans Tribute Scholarship –This scholarship is available to 16 – 18 year
old students who are sons, daughters, grandsons, or granddaughters of
American Veterans and those currently in the service.  Amount: $3,000 -
$10,000.
Patriot’s Pen Essay – Available to students in grades 6 – 8 have an
opportunity to win a $10,000 savings bond.

11/20/04  College Bound Style Expo – Students will get information on
Scholarships, admissions information, etc.  The Expo will take place on
November 20 at the Miami Beach
Convention Center.  Students can register online @
www.collegebound.net/cbstyle.

11/20/04  Manhattanville College – Manhattanville College is holding Open
House on October 23rd and November 20th.

11/26/04  Florida’s Junior Miss Scholarship Program, Inc. – The Sunshine
State Junior Miss At-Large Program, a qualifying competition for Florida’s
Junior Miss State Finals Program will be held in Tallahassee on December
18th and 19th.  The scholarship opportunity is available to seniors.  Visit

11/30/04  Campbell’s Tomato Soup American Dreams Contest - $100,000 will be
given to a student in grades 9th – 12th (ages 13-18).  Visit
www.campbellsdreams.com for more information.

12/01/04  SAE Engineering Scholarship Program – Many engineering
scholarships are available to students who intend to earn a degree in
engineering or a related science.

12/1/04 University of Connecticut – Scholarships ranging from $3,000 -
$15,700 will be awarded to students of University of Connecticut.  Visit
http://www.uconn.edu for more information.

12/1/04 Boston University – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship –
Renewable full-tuition rewards are available to students who wish to attend
Boston University.  Students must be in the top 10% of their class, have a
3.5 GPA, and a 1250 SAT or a 28 ACT.  Students can apply at
www.bu.edu/admissions/apply/scholar_mlk.html.

12/1/04 Telluride Association Sophomore Seminar – There is a free 6 week
seminar program available to nominated sophomores.  See Mrs. Rudd if you
would like to me be nominated.  Website: www.tellurideassociation.org.

12/3/04 Toyota Community Scholars Program – Scholarships ranging from
$10,000 - $20,000 will be given to a senior who will enroll in a 4 year
college or university.  One student per school may be nominated.  The
student must have an outstanding academic record (3.0), be an effective
leader, and show a contribution in the area of community service.  See Mrs.
Rudd if you would like to be nominated.

12/3/04 Principal’s Leadership Award (PLA) – A scholarships worth $1,000 is
available to a senior who is nominated from Godby.  Only one senior per
school may be nominated.  See Mrs. Rudd for more information.

12/10/04 – 2/1/05  Johnson & Wales University – There are several
scholarships available to students who plan on attending Johnson & Whales
University.  See Mrs. Rudd for details.

12/15/04  Henry Morrison Flagler Scholarships (FAU) – These scholarships
are for students who attend FAU and are in the Honors Program.

12/15/04  Ronald A. Hammond Golden Drum Scholarship – This scholarship
(full tuition) is available to seniors of Black/ African descent who plan
on going to UM.  Minimum requirements: SAT 1100, ACT 25, GPA 3.8.
Applications are available at www.miami.edu/goldendrum.

12/15/04  Burger King Scholars – $1,000 scholarships are available to
seniors who work an average of 15 hours per week and 40 weeks per year.
The student also has to have a 2.5 GPA.  Only 1 student per school can be
nominated.  See Mrs. Rudd for details.  *Applicants are not required to be
Burger King employees.

12/15/04  Queens University of Charlotte – There are many scholarships
available to students who attend Queens University.  Web:

12/17/04  Tallahassee 25 Scholarship – This $1,000 scholarship is available
to juniors and seniors with a 3.0 GPA.  Applicants must have 20 hours of
community service within the last calendar year.  Visit

1/1/05  American Legion – Auxiliary – Aid offered: $500 - $1,000.
Applicant must be a veteran’s child, sponsored by local Auxiliary Unit;
applicant must be FL resident; must attend FL school.  Web:
www.floridalegion.org.

1/1/05 American Legion – Memorial Scholarships – Aid offered: $500 -
$1,000.  Eligibility: Members, daughters, or granddaughters of members with
three consecutive years membership in FL Unit prior to application date.
Must attend FL school and be a FL resident.  Web: www.floridalegion.org.

1/3/04 Vanderbilt University – Engage Scholarship Program – Vanderbilt
University has excellent opportunities (mentoring, paid internships,
graduate school, etc.) for student who attend their University.

1/7/05 Discover Card Tribute Award Scholarship Program – Scholarships
ranging from $2,500 - $25,000 are available to juniors with a 2.75 GPA.

1/7/05 Juniata College (PA) Scholarship Program – Scholarships are
available to students who attend Juniata College.  Visit www.juniata.edu
for more information.

1/10/05 Divine Light Scholarship – A $350 book scholarship is available to
a senior who is going to college in the Tallahassee area.  Applicants must
be of African-American descent.

1/14/05 UNF Scholarships – There are many scholarships available to
students who would like to attend UNF.  Scholarships range from $4,000 -
$16,000.  Visit www.unf.edu/finaid/scholarships/index.html for more
information.

1/14/05 Gates Millennium Scholars – This scholarship is offered to seniors
who plan to study math, science, engineering, education, or library
science.  Students must have a 3.3 GPA and are African American, American
Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic
American.  The student must also meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility
criteria (Determined through FAFSA).  Students must be nominated.  See Mrs.
Rudd for details.

1/15/05 United Daughters of the Confederacy (General Scholarships) –
Scholarships ranging from $400 - $1,000 are available to students who
maintain a 3.0 GPA.

1/15/04 Elks National Foundation Scholarship Information – Visit
http://www.elks.org/enf/scholars for applications and information.

1/28/05 FSU – Service Scholar Program – FSU is offering $2,000 renewable
scholarships for upcoming freshmen with a strong community service
background.  Applications can be found at
www.fsu.edu/~service/servschool.html or in the guidance office.

1/31/05 FAMU Scholarships – There are many scholarships available to
students going to FAMU.  Scholarship amounts range from $500 - $5,000.
There is more information available in the Guidance office.

1/31/05 2005 Congress-Bundestag Vocational Youth Exchange Scholarship
Program – This program provides an opportunity for graduating seniors who
are enrolled in vocational courses to spend one year in Germany.  Three
students can be nominated per school.  Visit www.nacelopendoor.org for more
information.
