Only parents that want to limit their child’s access will need to complete the FOCUS form. LCS plans to open Media Centers for student check out on Monday, August 14th. It's time to update your students' Focus picture! Success Academy will be holding a picture day on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. On May 11, 2021, Governor DeSantis signed House Bill 7045 into law, resulting in several changes to the state funded scholarship programs, including an extensive expansion of the Family Empowerment Scholarship Program. House Bill 7045 expanded the Family Empowerment Scholarship Program to include two branches of eligibility, the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options and the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Disabilities.
Per the newly signed Florida Law HB 1B, beginning today, face masks or any other facial coverings will be optional for students and adults on Leon County School's campuses; however, parents may allow their child to wear a face mask or any other facial covering at their sole discretion.

We received notice that one of our students has tested positive for COVID-19. If your child was in the classroom with the COVID-19 positive student and was potentially exposed, you will receive a phone call from Success Academy advising you of the steps to follow during quarantine.
Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Mobile Vaccination Unit provides COVID-19 Vaccination Shot and the school would like to know, if offered, would you and/or your child (ages 12 - 18) like to participate in receiving the COVID-19 vaccination shot provided by Bethel Missionary Baptist Church? The child will have to be accompanied by their legal guardian.
COVID-19 is a respiratory illness spread mainly from person-to-person through respiratory droplets which are produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks. These droplets can land in the mouths and noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs. COVID-19 may be spread by people who are not showing symptoms which is why keeping exposed individuals separated from others is important.
This year, all students may eat in the cafeteria at no charge. Students will need to use their lunch PIN which can be found in FOCUS in “My Info” under the “Classified” tab.
As we plan on welcoming our students back in class tomorrow, and in order to keep ALL students and staff safe, we are requiring Pre-K to 12th grade to wear face masks while indoors and on buses. We will require masks for both Pre-K—12th grade students and district employees until September 6, Labor Day, when the mask requirement will be readdressed.
The end of the 3rd nine weeks is on Thursday, April 1st. There is a Spring Holiday on Friday, April 2nd, no school for students and staff. Monday, April 5th is a teacher planning; no school for students.

Most forecasters believe any severe weather will come through in the very late afternoon and will pass quickly. We will be holding a conference call with all of our schools in the morning to make adjustments if necessary. Our school is committed to the safety and education of all students. Coupled with safety is direct, open communication with you. I want to make you aware of an incident that occurred yesterday on campus. During an investigation of a separate incident, a school official read threatening text messages on a cell phone that were very concerning. We want to once again apologize for bus routes last week. We are confident that after yesterday and today, things are back up to as close to normal as possible. There are a handful of individual cases that the transportation department continues to work on-and these will be remedied very soon.
Starting Monday, August 19, all bus routes and stops that were in existence during the 2018-2019 school year will be reinstated. If you are a returning student to your school and you know the bus stop location from last school year, you may start using that location beginning Monday.
