To LCS parents and school communities-

As Americans living in the melting pot of the world, nearly all of us have a connection to the global community, as well as to past and current events happening around the world. These connections may cause us to feel strongly one way or the other with regard to global conflicts, such as the ones presently occurring in the Middle East, Ukraine, and elsewhere. Our students are witnessing the division on all sides, and of course have their own opinions and reflections.

Good afternoon parents,
In the abundance of caution, Leon County Schools is moving our dismissal time up by 1 hour for each site. This will allow us to ensure that our buses are off the road prior to the storm arriving. All car riders need to be picked up by 1:50PM.

We continue to monitor today's anticipated weather system. Please know that the safety of our students and staff will always be our top priority.

Most forecasters believe any severe weather will come through in the very late afternoon and will pass quickly. We will be holding a conference call with all of our schools in the morning to make adjustments if necessary. Dismissal and pick up for parents at all of our schools will remain as normal, however we will hold the release of buses until any severe weather has cleared our area.

Dear Success Academy Families,

Our school is committed to the safety and education of all students. Coupled with safety is direct, open communication with you. I want to make you aware of an incident that occurred yesterday on campus. During an investigation of a separate incident, a school official read threatening text messages on a cell phone that were very concerning. Given the nature of the text messages, we immediately involved our school resource deputy, the school district safety and security team, and additional members of the Leon County Sheriff's Office. An investigation was launched and an arrest of one

Parents,

We have made the decision that backpacks will not be allowed on campus moving forward. Your student may store his/her folders and notes in his/hers teacher's class.

Student safety is my number one priority and I believe this is the best decision moving forward for the school. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at [log in to unmask] or call 850-488-2087.

Parents of bus riders:

We want to once again apologize for bus routes last week. We are confident that after yesterday and today, things are back up to as close to normal as possible. There are a handful of individual cases that the transportation department continues to work on-and these will be remedied very soon.

I hope your day is off to a strong start. We will be mailing out report cards and individual test scores (when they come in from the state), but I wanted you to know that all grades for courses that have been completed have been entered into FOCUS. The Credits for the courses will be posted to the children’s transcripts once the state has processed all test scores before the end of this month. You have direct access to this system through the FOCUS Parent Portal. The FOCUS Parent Portal allows parents to view their children’s grades,
