On Monday, October 31st, Relay for Life is putting on a fundraiser to allow students to wear costumes on Halloween. Students (like hat day) will pay for a wrist band to be allowed to wear a costume. Wrist bands will be sold for $2 that morning before school in the gym and the cafeteria and during the day in the media center. All the money will go towards Relay for Life (American Cancer Society).

Good Afternoon Parents,

I just wanted to provide a day one update very quickly. It was a great first day and we look forward to a great year! With that being said if you have a student who is a bus rider, the buses are running very late today. As of 3:45pm there were still buses pulling out of Roberts Elementary School. Some of those buses are scheduled to come here after they drop off the Roberts students, so we anticipate it may be a while for some of our buses. Also our phone lines are out (District Wide Issue)

TOMORROW is the big day! We are excited to welcome you and your mustang to campus at 10:30am! (not 10:00am) Orientation is a drop in drop out event with no formal schedule. Summer reading check out:
Montford will be offering checkout for summer reading books. There is a limited quantity so it will be first come, first serve. Mrs. Thompson (the media specialist) will be in the front office about every 2 weeks to check in and out the summer reading titles we have in our collection. If you check one out, you will need to show up at designated times listed below. You must return the book the following check out time (or before that by dropping off at the front office) so others can enjoy the books over the summer.

MMS will be conducting a mandated FSA Infrastructure Trial on our Chromebooks to prepare for state testing in May. I'm requesting that all 7th and 8th graders bring their Chromebooks to school FULLY CHARGED tomorrow.

Greetings parents,

Here at Montford, we try to offer a variety of approaches to providing students with important life skills and other supports above and beyond the fantastic instruction they receive in their classrooms.

We are currently able to offer a group focused on anxiety and stress for females, grades 6-8. For this particular group, the Coping Cats curriculum will be used to build awareness of physical signs of stress and anxiety and then to gather techniques your young person can employ to combat these physical symptoms. The group will also focus on strategies to adjust faulty cognitions and maladaptive
