We are beginning to gather archives for the classes of 2019-2024 to be displayed in a new filing cabinet in the archive room. Currently, we have archives for each class from the 1930's to 2018. One way to help this process is we are asking Leon graduates from 2019-2024 to bring in Leon archives (photographs, newspapers, etc) that they believe best represents their Leon experience.

This is a reminder that on Thursday, 4/4/24, all 9th and 10th grade students will be taking the B.E.S.T. writing assessment as required by the state. Those students not testing have been assigned to a Study Hall unless you allow them to study at home. As we approach the exciting culmination of your seniors’ high school journey, we are thrilled to offer you a special opportunity to celebrate this momentous occasion while supporting Leon High School. There is ONLY totally unique congratulations yard sign for the Leon High School Class of 2024, with proceeds directly benefiting Leon students… that is the yard sign purchased from Leon Theatre.
Over three decades ago, a group of parents and caring community members started “Project Graduation” at Leon High School. The event allowed for a safe way to celebrate all the accomplishments of our high school graduates. In 2021, due to the pandemic, instead of “Project Graduation” Leon High School held an outdoor Senior Carnival. The carnival was a tremendous success and we have decided to continue this tradition to celebrate the Class of 2024! The incredible success of these past celebrations was a direct reflection of the support and generosity of the Tallahassee business
We are thrilled to extend a dramatic invitation to experience the wit, humor, and timeless relevance of our spring theatre production: "Tartuffe," directed with a fresh and modern twist by our Leon Theatre department. Shows will be this Friday, March 22 at 7:00pm and Saturday, March 23 at 3:00 and 7:00pm.
As you may know, we are administering the SAT to all juniors and select other students tomorrow, March 20th in the morning. Students not taking the SAT will be in a first period study hall unless you allow them to study from home. However, all students will attend 5th and 6th period after our regular lunch as usual. These classes are required and attendance will be taken.

In an effort to improve our schools, the Leon County School District is conducting a 2024 Spring Parent/Guardian Climate Survey. We value your opinion and ask that you please take the time to complete this survey based upon your experiences at your child's school. If you have children at multiple school sites (example - one child in elementary school and one child in high school), we respectfully ask that you complete one survey for each school. If your children attend Ft. Braden or Woodville K - 8 School you only need to complete one survey.

I apologize for the delayed email. Earlier today we had a "lock-out" because of a situation that was occurring on a street near our campus. The lockout was necessary in order for law enforcement and administration to make sure those individuals did not get on our campus. The situation was safely resolved before the end of the school day.

As you likely know, there was confusion at Friday night's football game in Cox Stadium. I am happy to report that no player or current Leon students were involved in the altercations. However, it is regretful that this even occurred and that everyone missed out on the second half of play. It has definitely, though, prompted us to re-think our safety protocols for football games in general and especially in a large space like Cox Stadium. Safety has to be our top priority.

Don't miss out on an incredible opportunity for your students to win a $250,000 college scholarship! The Breakthrough Junior Challenge 2023 deadline is quickly approaching on June 25th.
Encourage your students (aged 13-18) to enter by creating a < 2-minute video explaining a challenging concept in physics, mathematics, or the life sciences. Not only could they win the scholarship, but you (their teacher) could receive a $50,000 prize, and your school could get a new $100,000 science lab!
It is with great pride that I invite you to come see our family-friendly LIVE production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat this summer!!!
